I disagree with his ending, somewhat smarmy comment about "Sony turning into Nintendo" based on having "only" first party exclusives. How is this a bad thing? Yes, exclusives give you a reason to own a console, but third party games are getting so expensive, we are seeing a change in gaming in general with everything being released on everything (until MS drives up the dumptruck of money). I think having a strong first party stable is an excellent thing, and I think Sony and its teams have brought some amazing exclusives in the past 3 gens that go toe to toe and even surpass the fading Nintendo, which has seemingly lost sight of its true fanbase.

I think MS lacks any real definitive characters, are most are owned by other companies and can easily jump ship. I also think its somewhat... silly, to bash first party exclusives, when the competition's major third party exclusives, more often than not, end up on the PC. Not much of an incentive for me to get an Xbox 360 really.

If that guy knows people that were going to buy PS3's just for Final Fantasy XIII, they'll HAVE to buy PS3's for Final Fantasy Versus XIII! ha ha ha!

Final Fantasy XIII will benefit the Playstation 3 more because:

-The Xbox demographic of gamers don't care about JRPG's like Final Fantasy

-FFXIII is a PS3 exclusive in Japan, and that's where tons of PS3 systems will be sold when the game is released.

- More people are familiar with the Final Fantasy games on the Playstation

- Final Fantasy Versus XIII is a PS3 exclusive and basically that means that the entire next-gen Final Fantasy experience (and the best Final Fantasy experience) will only be on the PS3.

Swapping discs isn't a big deal, but I would rather have my game on one disc, even if it means that I'll have to sit through a one time 7-8 minute initial install. The benefit from the install is quicker load times and I'll take quicker load times over disc-swapping any day.

OK all these people who keep mentioning Final Fantasy XI as a reason for XIII doing bad or good is invalid ITS A MMO. It's very different from a offline RPG. I still play FFXI and have since launch I have played it across all platforms PS2 then Xbox360 and now PC. It's not even a comparison.

This article in general is weak.. I don't agree with the 360 being a shooter console anymore the system has many games that appeal to different people... its time to jump off that ship.
Blue ray is a a great media device is has huge amounts of storage.. but changing disc is not gonna really hurt anyone lets get over that also.
I Already have a PS3 so I'll be getting FF XIII on PS3, most Final Fantasy got a ps3 already( that's just truth).I think Microsoft is aiming for the rpg crowd hard they have a line up already of solid rpg's, and games to come if they can pull a great deal of rpg players to there system they kinda got themselves a small victory.
A good article would like to read is what is going on with PS3 and there RPG's they had a huge amount on ps2 even within the 2 years.. Sony should be trying to pull that crowd in hard..because Microsoft is going for that crowd.

FF stole quite a bit thunder from Sony, and it is a major blow..... but MS forgot one major variable in the picture ........ and that is bringing new franchises into the market. And this is What Sony will be doing.

If you notice each generation of consoles brings back tried and tested franchises.... but it is really the new things that make the console push and survive for longer periods.

MS and their fans may think this is a victory but heads UP this is a multi platform game.... meaning it can still be found on the ps3

The whole point in Microsoft getting Final Fantasy was to help them out in Japan, but it won't be released in Japan. You can thank Sony and their dirty money for that one. I wish Sony would quit bribing the Japanese devs. They're ruining the industry.

It will bring sales of the 360 in japan to double (from 1 sold per day to 2 sold per day). It will sell a huge amount in the western us, and Europe where people arent devoted to the playstation just because DMX and Fifty cent rap about how cool it is to play madden on it.

It wont make ps3 owners kill themselves (lets face it they're attention whores, other wise I wouldnt be able to predict them reading this very sentence trying to find flaws in my santance<---a joke.)

It will be on one Disc on the 360 version (thats enough to rile up about 99 disagrees)

Compression was not outlawed,just ignored by the ps3 which is why so many graphics compairisons are finding the 360 as a winner.

All the disc space in the world wont make your version look better if both consoles have the same RAM and Speed.

Here's my explanation so that ps3 "L-users" can understand,

360 is a toyota
Ps3 is a toyota with a big gas tank

they both go the same speed
but the ps3 toyota will go longer

the 360 "car" will compensate by getting better mileage(compression)

the Ps3 "car" will remain the same, confident because of its superior space for gas.

Now they are even and most of the times the 360 "car" will perform better.

There.....understand? If not just make annoying excuses for people to believe your view point.
Here's a good one, say "I own both consoles, but 360 sucked since before i bought it". Or just mention killzone 2, Home little big planet or any other game coming out in spring of 2019. But the best thing you can do to prove 360 owners wrong is by linking us to official websites that only have news about PS3. Link us to a playstation article saying that the ps3 is the best thing ever...after all we all trust official xbox online right?

What I don't understand about Square Enix is that FFXI on the 360 was a flop so why waste the time to develop it for the 360 when they knew a past FF Game on the 360 didn't turn out well.
I can understand they need the money but come on you shouldn't have to the make the same mistake twice.
Everything mentioned in this article is true except FFXIII isn't the only driving point for the PS3.
Games like Little Big Planet, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, War Devil, God of War 3, Flower, Flow, etc. are the games that are gonna push the PS3 not just one game.
Microsoft can keep buying all they want but Sony is just gonna keep developing even more advanced games until Microsoft comes to a point to where it doesn't matter how much money you have cuz if that game can't play on your console then there's no point in buying it.
Still all these exclusives you see mentioned and B3YOND can't be played or developed on the 360 so Microsoft is screwed.

Square Enix is dumb for making FF on the 360 for the following reasons.
1.) A Final Fantasy game has flopped on the 360 before so why risk it again.
Does anyone remember FFXI?
2.) How the f*** can you port it to the 360?

Microsoft is dumb for buying it in the 1st place.
Reasons:
1.) FFXIII for the 360 isn't coming out in Japan a game like that would help out the 360 but since it's not going to Japan what are they gaining from buying this game.
2.) Square Enix doesn't even start production for the 360 version until after the PS3 version comes out in 2009. If it takes 1 year to make a port then that means FFXIII for the 360 won't come out until 2010.

I don't about you but if your a true Final Fantasy Fan Boy.

Are you gonna wait a whole year longer on top of waiting a long time to get it on the 360 or are you gonna get it like your supposed to on the PS3 and just play it?

Ok. So FFXIII is coming to the 360 but what about the extended game FFXIII Versus.
Sorry guys that's PS3 Exclusive so buy a 360 get part of the story or buy a PS3 get that same game anyways plus the full story.
I'll let you guys decide that for yourselves.

I'm gonna get this game for the PS3 and just move on.

Microsoft is getting screwed by this deal so pick sides.
