The reason that it's still on top is because Halo 2 is one of the only good Xbox games left with the servers still running.

It's Unreal for me, but I can't miss those double xp weekends halo has. Not because of the xp, they simply have better game typse (griffball). I loose interest in COD4 when everybody starts camping, but every game has those little nik naks I guess.

the epicness of halo 2...

halo 3 really deserves the number 1 spot out of any shooter, simply because of the map editor, theater mode, custom games, the ability to fileshare all that was just mentioned, and superior competitive matchmaking capabilities.

3/4's of all that i just mentioned is nopt present in any shooter on the 360 right now, and even on the ps3, unless you get some sorta mod or what not.

I can't agree to that given I never even tried Warhawk, but I think there are some were forgetting, just can't think of them at the moment. My only gripe or annoyance is when someone says the ps3 has no lag. That really confuses me as I've noticed no such thing. There's always been lag in either my 360 games or ps3 even with a good internet service. Not alot, but there's just no such thing as "lag free" in my own experience.

Maybe you should upgrade your internet? I have a 100mbit connection and I've never encountered lag on psn, on Live however I actually have. Granted, I live in Europe and most people who play on live are from the US, but come on!

Firstly, as you said, yes, latency increases over distance. If you're playing with people halfway across the world, it is ALWAYS noticeable. Secondly, 100 megabits? Do you have any idea how much service like that costs in North America? I can safely host a 16 player game with ~700kilobits upload, after about 1megabit you have excess speed to use for other things outside of gaming, unless you're trying to host some huge 40 player server yourself, and then, your hardware likely wouldn't have the processing power to do so.

My line speed is about 7megabits down and 700kilobits up, but my latency is about 20ms. You can have a terabit line and it doesn't mean anything for gaming if you have a latency of 70ms. For instance, making a water pipe bigger when it was already able to deliver the correct amount of water will give you absolutely no benefit.

With the lack of killer AAA titles,the xbots have reverted to playing Halo 3 because of its childish controls and repetitive online.They must surely be bored with lack of content for the next 3 years so they are trying to plug leaks in a sinking ship.The PS3 fanbase however offers more variety for choices and will undoubtedly push forward with killer aps in 2008,2009,and beyond.The 360 is an outdated console and will fall behind.I said it before and I'll say it again.2008 is the year of the PS3 and the year we forgot 360 existed.

I did download it and I had fun, remember what fun was before you were watching 90 minute cutscenes in MGS4, and we have quite a few exclusives besides Gears of War 2 just look at Fable 2, Too human, Banjo, Mass Effect 2, etc. Now what are these thousands of PS3 exclusives people are talking about Resistence 2 (Our equal of halo but still I liked the first one), Little big planet, Killzone 2(I personally think it looks horible just un-original and the first one sucked), Infamous (Which isn't coming out till spring 09), and god of war 3 (20 second trailer yay!). Oh my god you have one more exclusive how amazing and we still don't know about the new halo game which if it's anything like the other ones it's going to sell like crazy. Don't act like the PS3 is going to become king all of a sudden what they are doing is playing catch up and with no MGS4 to boost things the PS3 is going to return to a slow pace.
