insomniac don't work on one part of the game to show to the public. The treat every part of their game equal. Sure they could have work on the build for the E3 press event, but that not what Insomniac do.

I thought the inside building was horrible because of bland texture and lighting.

It's nice to hear it's nowhere near completion and supposed to be set on fire.

R2 still gots a couple of month b4 it is released and as they said that building was incomplete. I didnt really notice becuase i was paying attention to the gameplay. R2 will look good when it gets released. i can see it getting more polished. I will still get the game no matter what, cause it still looks funs as hell.

I see Gears 2 has the bigger problem. I mean damn at least R2 ran the whole way through and while I thought the textures in the building were horrid if it will be burning in the final version then ok. Still funny to see both demos fall off track.

R2 - Oops wasn't that building supposed to be on fire?

But yeah I am glad R2s building textures were a mistake and will be fixed, Insomniac is known for making great smooth running (and nice looking) games. Gears 2 will most likely be patched, though I am surprised a big Gears 1 problem is still roaming around...

EDIT: @ an above poster Gears 2 will sell alot more than R2, bigger install base and the equivalent of God of War for 360. I still think R2 will be great but number wise it'll be no competition. Hopefully Sony will market R2 correctly, they are already stating now. If they can get it big enough so that holiday PS3 buyers (there will be many this year) purchase it as their first game we could see competitive numbers, not overtaking but impressive at least.

They are Different

One is 1st person shooter and other is third person..... hence having a totally different feel to the game..

Its like comparing final fantasy with Zelda.... totally different games even though they are rpg's

this guy is digging pretty hard...Cliffy confirmed that the 360 controller timed out...not that the 360 red ringed, despite many attempts to make it sound that way 'this being one of them'...

and resistance 2 lacked polish?...it already looked twice as good as the showing just a month ago...its coming only surprisingly quickly...as did R&CF just a year ago...

these previews of games are actually the most annoying part of the gaming media right now imo...I want to hear about these new games just as much as the next guy...but the new trend is to keep drilling how they underwhelmed instead of that they are shaping up to be awesome...both of these games will be some of the best experiences on their respective systems...and for different reasons...just because there are a few bumps a few months from release; leaves no reason to sound any alarms...

It could be that the controller timed out or it could be that the Xbox 360 problems that Microsoft said was not a big issue, is still a big issue. What I would like to find out about is how many consoles does Microsoft use as a JUST IN CASE THE 360 FAILS WE HAVE A BACKUP. The real story I think is that maybe just maybe Microsoft is still to this day not confident that the 360 wont fail in public. The problem with this story is it is not a Gears 2 issue, it is the issue of Microsoft hardware failures being put back in the spotlite again, even after they said that it is not a big problem anymore.

Resistance 2 looks like sh*t I doubt it will even match the first one.

LOL at the Bullshit post the 360 didn't crash, the screen went blank while the game was running as far as the console knew everything was great lol.

They later edited the live technical feed error that lasted for a few seconds.

LOL they have to make up BUllshit to talk bad about the PS3 lol so its fair due to the POS fanboys.

Undoubtably Gears will be a great game for all 360 owners.
I am waiting for resistance 2 myself.
i hope resistance blows Gears out the water though.
The previews looked sick, i bet it will be 2wice as good as the 1st.

Killzone 2 as well, 09 has such good games comming, honestly it could be the best year for all gamers.

I doubt the game crashed the 360. It's not the developers fault that the guy playing the game went off-plan (and sucks at playing). I know it was Ted Price, but they should have gotten a decent player.

Both games are fine, but the author has to say otherwise.

The problem does not lie with Gears Of War as it is a mear programming fault. Wow it crashed, with a game of this nature. The amazing visuals and amount of data running through the xbox 360 when running this game is something that sony cannot match. Hence the reason Resistance 2 looks pathetic. If you really think that it looks good then your an idiot to the system. Resistance 2 looks last gen and does not have good gameplay.

Compare the two and you will see how retarded Resistance 2 looks!

The xbox 360 is the only machine that can produce such amazing graphics and processing power to give such smooth gameplay. You wonder why the xbox 360 gets problem because its got so much power. That is what you call real next gen! Not something that uses many shaders and texture tricks to fool the gamers eye....

You watch a gameplay video of the ps3 and all you see is mis-matched textures and dusty dark visuals.....You say its how they video it but its not. I have seen it for my own eyes and no TV setting will change it....Its always dusty and dark visuals! Utter rubbish!!
