X-Play's Best Of E3 Awards

E3 might be over, but x- play is not done by a longshot. X-Play returned to the air to bring their Best of E3 Awards. This year's E3 brought a list of titles of unprecedented quality, but only a few were able to garner our label of Best of E3.What did you think of the decisions? Did LittleBigPlanet really deserve the title of E3 Best Of Show? Or should it have gone to revolutionary first-person action title Mirror's Edge?

Why the heck is Too Human nominated for best 360 game but no Banjoo!?

Also, why the f*** NBA won innovation!? lol at Dead Space's nomination. It's a great looking game but everyone has attacked it for stealing from every game in the genre and what does Xplay do? Gives it an INNOVATION nod!

Why the heck is Mirror's Edge didn't win!? Both Mirrors and Prince of Persia deserve MORE. At least they gave Fallout 3 a well deserved award. LOL, on PS3, InFamous was namded best but LBP won the overall award!?

Anyway, My choices:

Wii: Mad World
PC: Dawn of War 2

Multiplayer: LBP

Innovation: Mirror's Edge

I'm not sure if you're aware of this but every game they chose was PLAYABLE or had actual GAMEPLAY. MAG is nothing more than an idea. You don't give Awards for concepts that haven't been seen in action. At least not if you want to be taken seriously.

I would have put Mirror's Edge and Resident Evil 5 in the Multi-platform, but that's just me.

Anyone want to explain to me how after gaining a nomination for E3's best PS3 game, losing out to inFamous for the award, LittleBigPlanet is able to take home the Best of E3 award? That's a good one. It's LittleBigPlanet, though, and it'd have been pretty embarassing for it to lose out to a game that was just premiered a couple days ago. So I'll give 'em a little credit, but come on.

Anyways, I agree with most of their choices here. Only a few that left me a little puzzled. Fallout 3 for Best Multiplatform? It was alright. Nothing earth shattering. I would have rather saw Mirror's Edge win. Something that creative and exhilarating deserves all the cred it gets. Best Innovation, NBA Live 09? Really? Did I miss something here? The nominees looked a lot more appealing.

Anybody here been to E3 and tried out Too Human. Just curious to see if it deserved the nomination. With all the negative feedback I've heard, it got me thinking. I used to be interested in the game, and would love it if it lived up to my previously high expectations. Thanks.

Why not Resistance mulitplayer are they stupid!!! innovtation goes to LBP and Mirrors edge not an other NBA game. am glad that they gave LBP game of E3 it deserved it.

Little Big Planet clearly stole the show...and that's coming from G4TV, aka "360 Fanboy Paradise". The fact that they chose a so-called "kiddie" Sony exclusive game over Gears of Wars 2 already got a majority of the G4TV "We love the 360" fanbase scratching their heads as if there is a major lice infestation going on.

Picking another Sony title as a winner over a 360 game in the Innovation Category will only cause mutiny within G4TV user ranks...so they have to play with politics, for the sake of maintaining their "people".

If they sucked MS wieners why did Little Big Planet get best of show? Last year COD4 a multiplayer game. and two years in a row Zelda Twilight Princess. None were Microsoft so I dont see any biases here anyway

They do lean towards MS. Kevin P has already shown himself to have gone that way. Also they replayed the Press Conferences. I should say Press Conference as only MS had their conference and MS interviews replayed and during a perfect time slot in the dinner hour.

But having said that, look at the Best of Award categories where all platforms were in the running. This means after Best of PS3, 360, PC, and Multiplatform.

Sony had the highest concentration of exclusive titles as award winners and overall runners up. Quality, pure and simple can't be ignored even by G4.

That means begining with Best Multiplayer you will see that Sony had twice as many nominations as Microsoft. More if you consider the fact that Left 4 Dead is coming to PC.

Wow. The gaming media is just in love with LittleBigPlanet.

Killzone 2 wasn't shown during Sony's Press Conference, so I didn't really expect it to win for Sony's best games at E3, but if it was, it probably would have been at the #1 spot. Infamous probably won their top spot for Playstation 3 games because it was fairly new to most people and seeing gameplay for the first time was pretty nice, so I can see why it got the top spot.

They probably liked LittleBigPlanet more overrall because it's something new, fresh, and it really stands out among all the action games.

9 - G4 Coverage.

I pretty much agree with the list except that NBA Live won biggest innovation wtf? But other than that the list was cool with me.

I know a lot of people here dog on G4 and say they sold out, which is true to an extent. But look at just how much coverage they had of E3. 4 days 3-6 hours per day. I think everyone can agree that G4 actually did alright this week.

Plus they didn't show COPS.!!!! My mother in law lives with my wife and I and she is OBSESSED with COPS!! G4 had been the bane of my existence for a while.

LittleBIgplanet should be a nominee for GOTY. I didn't think I would buy it at first since it was too casual for me. BUt when I saw the amount of freedom you have to do whatever comes to your mind(like the E3 level) I just knew that I had to buy this game on Day 1.
