Gears of War 2 Goes Black During Demonstration

Looking4GameNews writes: "Today on the Microsoft Press Conference, Clifford B was demoing Gears of War, which he called the most anticipated game this year on any platform. During the demonstration the screen went black for a second or two, rumors are that the demonstration was not actually a real time demo, it was pre-recorded".

E3 '05. @shroomz... Like you said, "big deal". But in all fairness to KZ2, there wasn't someone on stage working a controler pretending to play it. The only person that said it was gameplay was Jack Tretton and that was after the press conference. One guy made a mistake and the internet is on fire. Good thing MS has reliable PR guys like Kim, Nelson, and Greenburger.

I don't care what you say, that's just ugly. The only thing else that could go wrong is for the demo 360's at the booths to get RROD(tends to happen at events such as these w/ XBOX's).

Thats funny, but not as funny as the QUEEFYBs comment about Gears being the most anticipated game on any console.. Maybe the 360.. but on Ps3.. We have soo many big games coming out.. that our anticipation is spread out.. Most PS3 owners are starting a Game Fund, just to find a way to pay for all the games coming out

UMM When you have car payment, insurance, rent/mortgage, food, internet, phone, cell phone, and stupid random crap for your GF.. UH ya I find it hard to pay for more than 1 game.. but im talkin like lets see SOCOM LBP R2 Madden MOTOSTORM.. Just those alone are 300 bucks combined.. and when you have to pay for a crap load of other stuff.. It could be tough

I knew something was up.

This Conference was honestly a disaster. New Guide looks good but that dont mean anything especially given you still cant customize.

Other than that I really enjoyed watching this it was funny as heck and down right sad in some parts.

Good luck Microsoft, you'll need it.. Oh and by the way dont spout numbers you cant back up... LOL

the footage that was shown looked absolutely stunning. I am seriously seriously impressed. The scale of everything was massive and the lighting and graphics were fantastic.

14 - Yeah, i remember seeing this in Kotaku's live blog.
Apparently the gameplay started, screen went black, and then the gameplay started again. I wouldn't be surprised if it was pre-recorded. It's risky playing a game in real-time in front of a live audience, especially if it's still early in development.

Big deal it went black a connection could have come loose anything could have happened its a public event anything could have happened stop hoping for people to fail. Just wait and see when they show actual gameplay. For the record there is no proof the '05 footage was CGI of KZ2 and if it was then guerilla did a great job of copying it into real gameplay.
