I downloaded the demo and played it.

I deleted it from my HD after 10 minutes of play; the game sucks; I can't believe I almost bought this crap (the combat system is a fkin mistake, and the game's just ugly).

At least I can say thank you SK for providing us a demo; you made me save 70euros.

downloaded and played. first impressions, the enviroments are massive however you are limited to the path and sadly can't jump on the walls, as 1up might have mentioned.

The graphics leave little to be desired and looked a bit unpolished around the edges. However it's an interesting design style for a traditional hack and slash and I was quite amazed by the scenery in places.

Gameplay.. I actually quite enjoyed it, to the guy above who said they played it for only 10 minutes I'd agree with you, but you have to give it a good playthrough to appreciate it. After I got used to the controls, (tad annoying right stick is attack instead of camera) I quite enjoyed it, getting new weapons and armour to customize the guy was quite enjoyable and after a while I was throwing out all kinds of crazy moves, the use of the guns works well but the controls could do with streamlining.

Menu's are rather clunky, it seemed to slow down when accessing equipment and the skills page could do with a few tips on how to use it properly as there's no onscreen help to explain, however after you've gained a few levels you can spend points here and there.

Story, didnt really get into it I was listening to AC/DC during my play through but the cinematics were quite well done.

Overall, I wouldnt recommend buying in it's current state unless you're into that genre specifically as its kinda hard to get into based from the demo, (maybe it will get polished before retail but who knows) however it merits a rent at least imo. I presonally will prob pick this up as the last recent scavanger hunt i played was Titan Quest and I particually enjoy these experiances...

Anyways hope this can help people decide.

Well, contrary to what most here seem to be experiencing I actually had a good time with it. The gfx range from good/decent to plain awful, the animations too and the combat is a bit clunky. However, the game is fun (for ME) once you get the hang of the controls and you start stacking up combos and seeing baddies go down like flyes. Also, your dude ranks up in the speed of lightning so your character quickly evolves. Unfortunately you only get to choose the champion class, but oh well its a demo. I fully expected to hate this game, and for the first 15 min I did, but after a while it warmed on me. I expect this game to get review scores ranging from 5.0 to 7.5, but I'll prolly still get it.

The game WILL NOT appeal to the masses, and those of you going in with high expectations will be dissapointed, but its a cool game.

EDIT: The art is a complete (I said complete) rippoff of mainly Mass effect but also Halo. The baddies look pretty much exactly like the geth and your allies are very very similar to the ones in halo.

in the game. I mean if you take into account the amount of time SK has been working on this game I expected everything to be super polished but it is not. I'm not saying its a bad game I'm just saying its average at best. The graphics, the camera and the combat feel like they have only been in development for a short time. The story seems AWESOME!!! and the weapons and upgrades are really cool, I just wish they were in a better looking and better feeling game but that's just my opinion.

It probably feels like what you said (parts only been worked on for a short amount of time) because SK had to go back to the drawing board very recently on the game. I haven't played it myself but knowing the history of the game's development, I wouldn't be surprised if pieces felt new and pieces felt old.

What the h*ll are you talking about? I own both Xbox 360 and a PS3 yes? But I greatly prefer playing on my Xbox 360 no secret there. I only play PS3 exclusives on my PS3 (and Blu-ray ofc :D!) All Multi-games etc is on my Xbox 360 (gotta love xbox live and Achievements :D...)

But to be honest here, I thought Too Human WAS boring...I am sorry if you dont like if I didn´t like Too Human...I was HOPING that the game would be good so all imature Sony-fans that has thrashtalked Too Human would be quiet but sadly the game was no good...

I love this garbage where people get accused of being fanboys just because they speak out against an exclusive that was supposed to be good.

But you gotta call em like you see em. Wait till the reviews come out or play the game first.

It irked me that Lair sucked, heavenly sword was too short, and then HAZE sucked too...but it is what it is.

I own both systems, so I can say with honesty that gamers are the ones who end up shortchanged when crap games come out. The Developers are going to get paid regardless...albeit with a tarnished rep.

60 bucks for garbage... Hopefully the game gets some tweaking before release.

Jenzo, in my experience PC demos tend to improve quite a bit between the demo's release and the full game release. The developers tend to use a demo almost like a beta. With consoles it seems to be the opposite...the demos seem to be closer to the final code...Bioshock was brilliant and Turning Point: Fall of Liberty was a turd. Based on the demo I think this game will score a solid 7 on Metacritic. Not bad but probably not worth $60 to your average gamer.

Well I played it and the damn demo sucks ass. And I mean klingon covered, unwashed, toilet paper balled, fungus covered reeking nasty ass too. Invisible walls you run against, control scheme that is hairbrained, spawning, spawning, spawning, more linear than ten miles of pasta, Team AI that is incredible idiotic and enemy AI that are obviously blind because they do not attack them, dumb bosses (get on the stairs and just grenade the hell out of them), incredibly convoluted level up system, aiming for the blind - you often find yourself helping humanity by blasting evil air molecules, a camera system that has been castrated, and worst of all they dropped the entire cyberpunk approach originally planned. These doughnuts have never even heard of William Gibson. Too Human blows massive chunks of putrid rotting flesh. 360 lovers, enjoy your own personal Haze.

the hype surrounding Heavenly Sword's budget was entirely focused on how it was using mo-cap techniques never before implemented into real-time rendering/gameplay...the cut-scenes were all rendered in real time, yet where based on algorithms captured of real world actors (and done in house by the special effects studio directly responsible for the LOTR trilogy...Weta Workshop in New Zealand iirc...)...

it was insanely expensive...but looked insanely lifelike...not even MGS4 matched the facial animation of HS (which was expected, as it didn't use the same type of facial animation technology)...but the expense in mo-cap took its toll everywhere else, with the game run-time being inexcusably short...

Killzone 2 is the only other game in development using the same technology...only Killzone 2 has nearly triple the overall budget of Heavenly Sword...which hopefully means it will have all the incredibly life-like animation of Heavenly Sword...and won't be beatable in 4 hours...

I thought it was a good game. It took me a while to get used to not trying to use the right thumbstick for the camera. I played half the damn demo without ever switching to the upgraded weapons I found. But once I started using the better weapons and upgrading the skills it was fun. It has some Diablo type elements mixed into the gameplay.

The graphics aren't as bad as some people say. I'm sorry but you won't see graphics like these on any last generation games. Maybe it's not the best looking game, but it's not the worst looking game either.

Nope. It doesn't suck. But, I agree with PimpDaddy, it took a little while to get used to not using the right analog stick for the camera. The only complaint I have towards the game is the camera. The camera isn't the greatest.. but it works. And, the graphics really aren't as bad as people thought they were.

The gameplay takes a little while to get used to it, but once I got a hold of it, it was good and fluid.

I personally enjoyed the game.. once I figured everything out.
