Burnout Paradise To Introduce Planes

Criterion is thinking about moving beyond terrestrial vehicles altogether, though, and has announced that, after it's done with the Cagney update, it'll begin working on introducing planes into Burnout Paradise.

This is actually a bit of surprise. When I first read the headline I thought it was just a rumor.

Anyway I never ended up buying burnout paradise, but it's definitely a must buy now due to the facts that criterion chose the ps3 as the lead platform, worked through the supposed pains of developing for it (without complaining like female genitals), is working on supporting trophies, keeping ps3 updates on time, and on top of all that adding DLC that would completely change the landscape of the game.

Whats so hard about it. I doubt it will have anything to do with racing just flying and crashing. Picture Ace combat in Paradise City. Now if they add rocket launchers and a machine gun IM SOLD! But the 911 references will never stop.

Jesus God that's awesome. Criterion is sweet. I haven't picked up Burnout yet, but I plan to when my budget allows it.

Also to whoever said it's time to move on and work on their next game, I'm glad to see them really making sure Burnout owners get the most for their money, but I really want to see another Black game as well. Here's hoping.

Then they're gonna introduce guns and jet packs, and rename it burnout San Andreas lol. Na seriously though it is really good that they're still improving the game in such major ways, its the main reason I bought the game.

Criterion have NOT announced this yet.

A couple of months back in one of the podcasts when they first showed the bikes they also showed an early test of a plane which they flew over the city. It was nothing more than a test one of the programmers made to see what it could be like.

Now on Criterion's website they've added a welcome page which says "we're even experimenting with planes!", which can be seen here: http://www.criteriongames.c...

So Criterion have NEVER said that planes will DEFINATELY be coming. They've said they might, they've also said they might not. These wbsites are making this possibility sound like it's going to be certain, simply because they don't understand the meaning of the word 'experimenting'.

I will buy Burnout Paradise. I played the game months ago, but the irrating soundtrack got on my nerves so much I wanted to poke my eardrums out with Qtips.

Now with the constant stream of updates coming out, I can feel fully assured that I can enjoy Burnout Paradise without having to listen to only 6 songs (out of 30) that I can tolerate.
