Police using GTA IV to catch pedophiles

Police who previously used internet chat rooms to set up sting operations are now playing Grand Theft Auto IV online to catch kiddie fiddlers.

"Child predators are migrating from traditional methods to alternate media," said Detective Lt. Thomas Kish of the Michigan State Police to the USA Today. "They are going to places where children are."

pretty funny; no address, but i gave you a bubble for that. on another note, if the police have a new way of "combating" pedophiles, why are they announcing it to the world. Maybe they realize that they are indeed too incompetent to actually do their jobs so they needed to cook up an excuse to place gta all day.

6 - That is a severe invasion of my privacy by the government
First of all, while I think it is great that the police are doing everything they can against these vile monsters, I do not use my console to be hanging around government officials, that is my private space and it is being violated.

Second, if parents want their kids to be safe, DO NOT BUY THEM GAMES FOR ADULTS! That is why your kids are morons and will end up working at McDonalds. Well, if they do not kill themselves first for being raped by a pedophile, that is.

ghoul your wrong. a server is private space. the government has to have a warrant to listen in on communications. i don't want to be playing games with cops,feds,or anyone for that matter where everything i say and do is recorded and held against me later without me knowing. it may start off as harmless talk with friends and then land you in jail because someone was a fed looking for pedophiles but they found someone else to throw the book at.

no don imus you are wrong sorry, a server is privat space, using xboxlive and or psn is a public space by sony and or microsoft, and those have all the rights to allow the government to enter those spaces, in fact the government can enter those spaces by themself legaly. if you want a privat space open up a closed session.

internet, malls, sportsevent, are not privat and so isnt multiplayer online gaming. read the eula

phonecalls, emails (if you have your own email host NOT mail.com or google) and such are privat

the police tried to arrest me but i stole a jeep and drove off then used a cheat to spawn a helicopter and flew on top of the empire states building and jumped off, then my 360 RROD'd <-- true story.

The vast majority of us are not pedophiles, however I don't like how this is slowly starting to look like a witch hunt. For example, all of us older gamer over 25. What is next? Are they going to tell us we are too old to play online games because there are a lot of kids in them?
