'Diablo III' Producer Plays Down 'Too Human' Comparisons

"Both recent and early impressions of Silicon Knights' "Too Human" have said that the upcoming Xbox 360 title's loot, skill tree and combat systems are similar to that of past "Diablo" titles. Some previews even proclaimed that "Too Human" is "Diablo III" before the Blizzard game was even announced.

While in Paris this past weekend, I asked "Diablo III" lead producer Keith Lee what his reaction was to these comparisons to "Too Human."

He denied having heard much about it..."

1 - No offense...
No offense to Silicon Knights, but the reason Blizzard would downplay this is b/c frankly they could care less. Too Human is an unproven new IP where as Diablo 3 could be a piece of flaming dogsh*t (I know it won't, Blizzard wouldn't do that) and it would still sell millions and millions more than Too Human or any of its successors.

1.1 - Agreed You are absolutely right, and thats why I can't buy Diablo III...
As much as I absolutely love Blizzard, their games seem to have a curtain effect on me. When I play them I can't play or do anything else. Relationships fail, work fails, school fails but it only seems to happen when I play Blizzard games and MMOs (maybe because of the nature of PC games).

After saying that I can't wait for this game to release. At that time I'll have to make a wise decision, but I think if it comes out for consoles as well, then I'll have little to be concerned with.

pshhh.... all that stuff happens to everybody when a Diablo game comes out. just suck it up and roll with it. You can always find a new job/friends/and family, but a Diablo game is something special!

Just compare the gameplay videos between the two games. Diablo 3 totally destroys Too Human in terms of combat system, environment, interface, and boss fights.

Diablo 3 will be epic, while Too Human seems like a boring fest. That's just my true honest opinion.

How and WHY would they compare these two games?

on easy maybe 6-10 hours if you rush it, but then you go straight into nightmare and then hell difficulties, plus there's infinite replayability online and even in single player. (plus the secret cow level of course lol)

Well depends. If you want to complete all the quests, I guess it takes at least 30 hours or so. The replay value is extremely high though, as you want to cooperate with a friend to fight bosses and get loot over and over again.

The thing is people have spent years playing diablo 2. It is so fun that people will commit their lives to the game.

So if too human does deliver (Wich I agree, it may not) There is the a chance that 10 hours is decent for this kind of game. As long as the replay value is there.

Well yes, but part of the replayability in Diablo was the randomly generated world that could feel fresh after dozens of playthroughs. I don't think TooHuman has that, tho I could be mistaken.
