1 - Virtually indentical.
The contract seemed higher on the 360 but that's prob just down to some settings. Good port.

Love the way the physics work on both.. Especially the tree splitting..

1.2 - It looks the same...
Ill get the PS3 version cause the best part of BF games is online.

And PSN is free (and thats an advantage for ME, i dont want to start a fanboi war)

1.5 - Instead of these comparison videos (that do nothing but start flamewars)
where are the articles about how broken the connections issues are? When is Dice and EA going to get on it? It will work flawless for a few hours and then BLAM you get booted from the game and can't connect for hours.

It works. Then it doesn't. Then you can connect, get booted (after a few minutes), connect, get booted, connects, get booted, runs fine four hours, rinse and repeat. WTF!

I want to play this game online! The odd thing is it seems to happen more during the day. You would think the problem would be worse at night when everyone is off work.

1.6 - Also agree, virtually identical!
I really, really wish they would do video comparaison like those, but saying A and B (for about 2 days) instead of 360 and PS3.

Instead of seeing fanboish comment like: Version A look WAY MUCH BETTER or Version B as way more leaves in the 4th tree on the left, we would finally get comments like: Wow, both version look almost identical. No fanboy would take a chance to pick one version over the other. Then, 2 days later, those guys could say which console was A and which console was B. Only a fanboy, looking at this video, would say one version is WAY MUCH BETTER than the other.

Personally, I don't care if one tree has more leaves or not, or if one explosion has to more sparks. While playing, I don't have the time to count leaves. Both game look very, very good. Keep bringing them on.

P.S.: There's one more peeble on the ground, around 1 minute 37 seconds and 12 hundred of a second, but you have to freeze frame to see it. ENJOY! Me, I'll be playing the game!

1.8 - I dissagreee with that sock thing a few posts above.
If you can't see that the 360 version is superior in more ways than one you're lieing to yourself. Even some of the effects and objects are missing in the PS3 version.

1.9 - its funny
how this gamer site when doing video comparing they always seen to turn off the PS3 RGB FULL RANGE(HDMI). i have both the PS3 and the 360, just got a 360 to play lost odyssey lol and have play both demo. believe you me both game looks and play the same, only different is my ps3 has RGB FULL RANGE so both looks the same.

@power of green: every game is going to look better for you on the 360 bro, let face it you a 360 fanboy. i read almost all you comments here on N4G and all you ever talk about is how the 360 better, how the 360 more power, how the 360 this and that, etc...its hard to imagine you every saying anything good about the PS3 ever. after being here on N4G so long and reading you comments they have become boring and repetitive to the point that they sound like advertisements for the 360, just how much is Microsoft paying for?

This website seems to be full of fearfull sony loyals that are always logged in and ready to make the first "spin" posts in every news piece that makes the PS3 look bad but the thruth is that: THE XBOX 360 VERSION LOOKS BETTER THAN THE PS3 VERSION.

I still dont understand why we are doing frame by frame comparisons of ps3 and 360 versions of games to look at minimal brightness and contrast settings and then claim that one is better than the other due to a slight increase. Dont you all think its kind of sad ?

They are the same game regardless of what platform its on, and any increase/decrease in brightness shouldnt be a reason not to buy it, and if it is your a joke.

Just buy the game and enjoy it. All these videos do is attract viewers to their site and get alot of gamers arguing over "which platform is better"

1.14 - no they don't
I own both consoles. The 360 always has better colors and rougher edges. The PS3 has smoother edges and washed out colors. I prefer the 360 version. Also the 360 tends to have better textures.

I wonder if they even attempt at configuring the TV.... T_T
Shut this user up Let user speak
Mr Marbles - 560 days 16 hours ago
2.1 - Well
if they didn't configure the TV, that means they didn't configure it for the 360 either, so now what is your excuse? Games look better on 360, why is that so hard to beleive, why do people literally make excuses for an inferior product? If graphics are so important to you, then just buy as 360. PS3 exclusives still look great, so whats the big deal?

2.3 - I don't know about opposite.
But you're right that the PS3 version looks much better than it does in the demo on this site. It does seem with adjustments to the TV the PS3 can look as good, but if you have to make adjustments for each game or for gaming and then for when you go back to TV, that's a pain.

Is it a matter of adjusting your TV every time you switch games? Or just a matter of taking 10 seconds to turn full RGB on and be done with it, forever?

I got the xbox 360 version yesterday after playing the demo on both and seeing it was far superior. The xbox 360 version has way more particles and debris and the textures are more detailed.

It's just, once again, the better version. It's normal for the xbox 360 to have the best version cause it isn't a port. Bank on xbox 360 multiplatform games, guys.

shazam - 560 days 21 hours ago
5.4 - no
First of all do you really think the developers would spend all that time and money making new, lower res textures for the ps3 version? They use the exact same textures. Besides, texture resolution isn't even that important for making a surface look good. What's important is the shader programs that go on the surface. Without shaders there would be no normal maps, specular maps, parallax maps, reflections, or refractions etc. Without shaders he surface would be just like looking at a flat, fuzzy, low res bitmap image. And the developers would not spend time writing new, less expensive shaders for the ps3 version. The shader program is just recompiled to run on the two GPUs. Since they are two different architectures the pixel comes out slightly different on each. Even if you ran Crysis on two PCs that are identical other than one has a Radeon HD4870 and the other has Geforce GTX280, even with all the same settings, the two screens would look slightly different. The GPUs simply have different ALUs for pixel processing and different algorithms for anti aliasing and so on.

Secondly, the games use the exact same physics code. And particle physics processing scales extremely on virtually every type of processor from the 360's Xenon to ps3's Cell and even graphics processors. My point is that no developer would have any problems getting physics to run on the SPUs, in fact they are extremely well suited for it and it is one of their strong points.

The fact is that you are an outright fanboy. Actually more like a fanbaby. Scratch that you are most like a fanweed. That's it fanweed.

FANWEED

As part of your fanweed ability set you have this strange ability to hallucinate better graphics on your favorite console. Man I wish I could do that.

Both games are the same just get over it, now it just comes to online. Free or a paid service because it seems now developers are better with the PlayStation 3 hardware. I'm with the free service so I can save that $49.99 on game add-ons.

I have to agree with you. I have played the demo on both consoles as well. At the same time actually. The PS3 version has much more jaggies and less vibrant colors than the 360 version. It also had less particle effects(visible in the explosions in the video).

Agreed in the video 1:20 in look at the ground when the video pans through each version despite the PS3 version looking like it has a layer of jelly the textures are rubbish the 360 versions ground looks 3D and is far more detailed.

Siligon's like Mart's clone or something. Like at the end of Mgs4 at the cemetery... oh my bad, 360 doesn't have MGS4. And you have a "PS3" too right? Well I got an Xbox720, not hard to lie over the internet is it.

8 - One thing they need to fix is...
I hate it when u are on ground and u grab out a rocket launcher and shoot the tank 2 r 3 times and it still doesnt blow it up. I mean what good is all this destructable invironments and then u cant even blow the damn tank up with a missle launcher. Also they need to do the same for the grenade launcher. Only way I found it easy to kill the tanks when on foot was when u were a sniper, using the above view rockets being dropped on the tank, usually takes them out if u get a direct hit.

Edit: Other then that the game feels like call of duty 4, but I think this one is a bit better because of the tanks and vehicles and big area and the weapons are pretty cool, but thats just my opinion.

Dlacy13g - 560 days 22 hours ago
8.1 - @Clintos
As for RPG's vs Tanks. I know they purposely made the tanks tough against RPG's so it will take a good 2 or 3 hits to kill one but that was to keep the demolition class from being too powerful. Also, all the tanks...especially the light tanks have vulnerable spots where the armor is lighter (see backside of light tank) and should allow for 2 hit kills.

What do destructable ENVIRONMENTS (at least get the first letter right, please.) have to do with tanks? Tanks take 2-3 hits to destroy so the game is more balanced. How would you benefit tactically from driving a tank and only being able to shoot off a couple rounds before being taken out by a single rocket (which are much easier to get than tanks)?
Shut this user up Let user speak
clintos59 - 560 days 6 hours ago
8.4 - Hey I understand they are trying to balance it out but...
In a real war a missile launcher is more then enough to take out a tank. Atleast make it 2 shots and the tank is dead. Because it just seems unfair when u hit a direct hit on the tank and then while u are reloading the tank turns around and kills u. That doesnt seem fun at all, especially if u are trying to catch a base and they have tanks gaurding the areas. I think everything else in this game is awesome but they need to change the missile launcher to 2 shots and the tank is dead. I just got off playing it again online and shot the tank 3 times direct hit and didnt kill it. I am the one who got killed for blowing my cover. They need to fix that.

9.1 - RGB Full color
why do you have to set up the PS3, does it not have the best setting out of the box?

you shouldn't really have to play around with settings...

lets say if you are a total dim-wit and want to play best settings, then you have a problem.........

any way, the game looks great on both... beside's from color 'adjustments' on the ps3 no real big difference; such as framerates.
