I bought it for my PS3 just cause I'm so used to playing GTA's on PS consoles with the DualShock controllers.

I already beat it and stopped playing it....i can't imagine many people reviving their interest in this game more than 6 months after they finish it.

As far as 50 million dollars goes....it did the job, for the most part. When most of the people bought the game they didn't know it was going to be so long before the DLC arrives. I'm sure it swayed many to the 360 version, it's just that now I'm sure less people will buy the DLC as they will be playing other highly anticipated titles such as GeOW2, Too Human, etc.

if the fiscal quarter is between those dates, then i'm expecting it to hit before christmas. take-two and microsoft are gonna want milk it, plus any other extra sales they can get for it during the busiest period....smart move.

and can i ask how it works on here for a story to get to the top of the page? coz this has had over 150 comments and is low. but some stories manage to almost be at the top as soon as they are on the front page?? mostly negative 360 threads anyway. it's rare that a negative 360 thread slides into obscurity.

When you talk about "edge" remember that the 360 version has sold 2:1 so I wouldn't call that an "edge", I would call that another ass kicking. And really, I think it's better they release it after Gears 2. The reasoning behind this delay is probably not by Rockstar, it's probably coming from MS because Alan Wake will be released in place of the DLC.

Q1 09 runs from October 08 - March 09. So in essence, they don't (and won't) have to be together. Although there is a possibility it's coming in the FALL of this year, it's probably improbably due the title you mention GeOW2. It'll probably be Feb. 2009.

Then next year it's GOW II and KZ2.

I have to admit though, I want more. GTAIV was my first GTA game, and I loved the first part of it once I got the hang. The end was kinda boring but now I want more! But I can't go back and play the older games, unless it's new I don't have time. I still got to replay MGS.

as curious as I am as to if they'll use elements from GATIV's original storyline I think could be easily made into ongoing episodic content... I don't know if my curiosity will sustain that long, damnit. 2008 just gets better and better.

If it's early enough in 1st Quarter it might still be relevent... but that's still a pretty big gamble.

The video that was on N4G yesterday.. Showed that it might have learned from the mistakes and has potential to be as good or better than GTA4 (maybe not hype wise or sales wise), but gameplay wise it looks good.. GTA4 used to be the game where you can do the most criminal stuff.. Now they watered it down and its actually kinda boring.. Saints Row 2 is looking like you can do some pretty nasty crap and really let looose.. Which lets be honest, You cant really let loose in GTA4

Remember that the % doesn't necessarily represent the length of the game story wise.

You can finish the game without reaching 100%. I finished it with only 60%.

sorry but.... on all the advertisement i saw... it said autumn..... microsoft were advertising as autumn, while it still says 1st quater, its still delayed, and i highly doubt it will be this year. and i'd bet my bottom dollar that they knew themselves that it would not make autumn, but they still advertised, which in my books is a pretty dlckhead thing to do... yes i'm a ps3 owner, but i would be majorly pissed off if they did the same for sony as i am pissed off that we're not getting it, but i reckon if i had to wait that long for it, i'll have forgotten about it by the time it comes....

I stopped playing GTA4 after beating it. I found really no compelling reason to return to liberty city. I know for sure I'm not going back to kill all the pigeons or fly under all bridges or stupid stuff like that.

This DLC better be worth it and not just more of the same o, same o missions from Packie/Jacob/Whoever. It's funny the first GTA I manage to beat and all I care about now is the story. I find myself not caring about the open world now that there is really nothing to the open world.

I'm sure it will be good. I hope so. You 360 guys should enjoy the expansion. Most people on here (I feel its mainly an N4G thing) seem to do nothing but hate on GTA IV. So maybe not many care anymore. I for one love GTA IV and wish this was coming to PS3. If it comes to PS3 by 2010 and we don't have a new GTA game or one on the way. I may buy it. I would certainly buy it if came the same time as the 360 but thats not the case. Enjoy!~

Enjoy waiting for DLC POG, us PS3 owners will just play games like the mighty MGS4 coming next week. MGS4= a game the 360 could never hope to have or handle in it's lifetime.

PS: POG I think you have already suffered enough grief from getting the RROD. How many times have you got it now? 4? 5? You guys might as well start getting Achievement points for the number of times your consoles get the RROD.

and frankly I don't care (mostly how this is great for 360 and all PS3 owners are picking this apart). The main thing here is for this to release sometime between Dec-March 09 most gamers will have moved onto something else. If this is going to be something along the lines of additional maps it might be great and ignite a renewed interest in this game. But most people are already bored of this game (both 360 and PS3 owners) and most of them will not be interested in this game at all. Maybe some people who got this game with a system for the holidays, but not many more than that.

And both systems are going to have great games coming out around this fiscal period. GeOW2, GOW3, Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Star Wars...I could go on but the fact of the matter is this will not be grabbing the attention it would have if it were released in a different period.

Microslaves demonstrate simplicity to it's finest form. Dark Sniper knows while they will be waiting for some meaningless content, he will be enjoying games such as Killzone 2 and true online networking such as Home.

I would agree with you that by that time there will be new games to play, but the only thing for me is.. GTA4 has multiplayer, a good one at that, so I will still be playing it for some time. It would be a different story if GTA4 only had a singleplayer campaign, and if that was the case I wouldn't get the DLC. But, because of the Multiplayer, it will give me time off from the Single player and by the time the DLC is released then when I get the DLC the single player will be fresh again.

Take your time R* and continue the main storyline of the game. Give XBOX owners something ps3 owners will never be able to see, (unless on youtube -lol) character development and continued in depth storyline and I'm sure many Xbox owners will feel this extra/exclusive content will be "Worth" the M$ credits.

@3.4: Dude, I guess you can not read, it clearly states "Canceled". read into that whatever you will, the bottom line is, neither of those titles are currently being worked on any longer.

yeah ok, those titles will most likely never see the light of day- but that doesn't mean there isn't a chance that Sony can resume production again

especially for The Getaway, since that's a pretty long-standing franchise

I'll take waiting for a couple of delayed classics (MGS4) over waiting for my 8th replacement console to be sent back from the repair shop any day.

Also, KZ2 and GT5 were never delayed. No one said they were coming in 2008. Get your facts straight, son.

I guess it's good that the DLC got delayed. At least xbox fans will have one good thing to look forward to after they're done pretending to enjoy Tears of Bore. Not much, but at least it's something.

2) The 360 version did have freeze-ups and issues, as per RockStar's own addmission.

3) Speaking of controllers.....I got battery packs and charge kit included with my system, you didn't.

4) My "$600 BluRay" player hasn't been malfunctioning at a 35% clip. How's your HD-DVD player looking?

You're a joke. The only games on your list anyone's ever heard of are Red Alert and Getaway. Getaway games were always wack and absolutely no one cared that it was canceled. Red Alert? If I want to play a strategy game I'll do it on the PC.

What would you rather have? An obsolete console, with no good exclusives left, which will possibly kill you, or the cutting edge home entertainment system with every must-play game of this generation and, of course, that legendary Playstation quality. It's the PS Triple for me baby!

the reason you never heard of some of those games is because they were announced at launch of the ps3 and in its development. .obsolete consoles are consoles people dont buy software on...your triple is that exact reference....now we see what sort of impact mgs4 has because if its as small as I think it will be...we wont be seeing nasim or any droids on these pages for awhile.
