I just don`t understand why MSFT doesn`t do this and SONY does, especially when people are paying for XBL.

Is there a reason for this?

In the latest EGM Epic says that they are well aware of the host advantage problem and are optimising and working with the netcode to make sure the problem is corrected.

Some publisher's do use dedicated servers on XBL but they are far and few. The PS3 doesn't use all dedicated servers for their service either, mainly 3rd party dev's.

Even though Live is mainly P2P, I've had good success in my games and don't have any noticeable lag %95 of the time.

but I never have any real problems with lag and stuff. Dedicated servers would make things a lot better, but the lack of them doesn't really matter to me. It will still be a sweet game...

Reborn Spy says you're a fanboy who know nothing about anything you criticize, rendering your opinion worthless. For one, Gears scored better than Resistance before, and not much is stopping it from happening again. Visuals are less important than story and gameplay, and one of the things Epic is planning to improve on is the story of Gears 2, even hiring a professional writer. They know what was wrong with the first, and are doing their best to fix the story, gameplay, etc. Both games will be great, but you can't just go around and talk trash about things you don't fully understand. I bet you also think that Killzone 2 will be the Halo killer because it has better graphics as well.

You should go to Resistance threads to talk about that game.

You try and force people to care about Resistances 2 when they don't is all you're doing there are better FPS coming out this year.

For one thing, anyone who makes up stupid nicknames for games is immature and loses all credibility in my mind. How do you have so many bubbles? Oh yea! This is N4G. I almost forgot. Bigger doesn't necessarily mean better. And you don't know how long any of the campaigns will be for sure, so you can't use that as one of your points. Also, stop using NG2 as the definitive 360 game since it was "bad". I'd say it's a decent game based on the reviews it's gotten, but since it's a 360 game, it must suck. Have you played the game yourself? Then STFU... Why can't we agree that they will both be great games? Probably because you're a PS3 fanboy who refuses to admit that an xbox game is decent.

Bill Gates...I don't think UE3 uses P2P...its all standard client/host...many complained of host advantages for the original Gears...and dedicated servers are what fixes that for that most part...

thats XBL, not Epic or UE3...its a MS published game, and they simply don't offer high speed dedicated servers for whatever reason (that in itself is an article altogether)...Unreal Tournament 3 has over 70 dedicated servers from Midway on the PS3 (it also had a similar amount for the PC also)...and lag in those servers is nonexistant for nearly everyone...whether Sony offered 'help' to Midway in that regard is unknown...but MS has recieved many'a memo about high speed dedicated servers making all the difference to gameplay quality...and blatantly ignored them...

it brings up the question once again...what is MS doing with gold subscriber's money?...
