really, do you think someone(involved with the dev. of a game) is going to come out and say "our game is a mess and we went back to the drawing board?

we just won't know what shape this game is in till they are willing to show a trailer. i wasn't thrilled with the direction they were taking the game. i hope they get back to the stealth theme.

I wouldn't be surprised if they pulled people off SC to work on PoP. It's a multi-plat which equals more cash, but it also allows them to develop the engine enough to make it worthy of an exclusive (SC).

I liked Assassins Creed. I know alot of people thought it was too repetitive (which i agree with entering the home stretch) but the social commentary aspect of some of the side missions made up for that a little bit for me. I did wish though that it wasn't a time travel twist on it though. But it still had a solid story.

Here's what I think:

1. The semi-interesting 24 knock off plot is canned
2. The game will be relaunched as the standard Splinter Cell black ops, black suit game.
3. It'll be announced as running on Scimitar engine
4. It'll end up multiplatform

And absolutely no one will care once it's launched because there will be far more interesting concepts out.

I think they were trying to avoid MGS4 media bias, keeping this game low-key will insure it won't be crushed by MGS4 hype by default deserving or not.

If Splinter Cell was anymore hyped content wise or even the date being talked about it would have been perceived as a MGS4 contender. They wouldn't even have to be within months of release of eachother to be seen as going head to head with eachother. The two games would have been compared regardless of Splinter CEll being more like a TACTICAL SHOOTER more on the SIM side of shooters vs MGS4's FANTASY arcade like style. SP's hype would be hurt because of the MGS bias.

Please explain this Fantasy arcade style of shooting and how SC has a Tactical Sim style.

Also throw in the fact that MGS4 is all about stealth and not a shooter, but the option is there for those who prefer fps.

hell, every stealth game after mgs stole mgs's concept.

and enviornments? ok yea, mgs has always been more open and varied.
splintercell is much more in house.

MGS4 still has major issues with primitive
gameplay elements. Hideo may have copied SC's modern camera and more realistic combat mechanics but it still has serious Japanese innovation flaws in it.

Those Halo's of symbols *or* marks overhead indecating MOOD and INTENT of the enemy AI's is just plan silly in MGS4. The AI enemies patterens seem forced so that you can use Snakes do-dads on them.

Anyways MGS4 is probably a 8-9 scoring game its just the Media Outlet *appeasement* based from respect of Hideo and MGS4 hence the cover-ups in the reviews due to the bribes from Hideo causing MGS4 not to be docked for its flaws only a few would dare comment on and even further score on.

SC-C(Splinter Cell Conviction)is the complete opisite you have to apply real world behaviors to the world of coviction due to the realism of the world and enemies, there is not any *?* Question marks above Sam's enemies heads(no ZzzZzz when knocked out) lol.

Why do you think the MGS series is so popular and loved?

it has beautiful graphics,a twisting storyline that keeps you hooked and begging for more.hands down the best gameplay i've ever had.

and the little *?* as you put them,are what really set this game apart. its the quirky random comedy that has MGS fans smileing from ear to ear on every game they've had,from the familiar guard with the diarreha,the porn magazine's,the random japanese model posters througout the game.the seemingly endless amount of "easter eggs" to find.The funny random codec calls,Intense boss battles,to even pointing your gun to the guards crotch and watching him dance like a b*tch (kinda like n00bpwner) and robbing his dog tags.

as for splinter cell its seriously (a serious) game.i have the one of PS3 (forget the name) its really not that fun,i played it half way through and its just the same thing each level,no inovation.no humor,just a pist off bald guy,kickin ass & takin names.

Both Splinter Cell and MGS are great franchises. What one person likes, the other might not. MGS seems to be more popular than Splinter Cell. That doesn't mean Splinter Cell is bad. I think of Splinter Cell as a simulator. MGS is more of an adventure game.
