Simon Jeffery:"Bayonetta is the best stuff I've seen on Next-gen"

Simon Jeffery the President of Sega America , in an Interview about their recent Deal with Platinum Games (Ex-Clover Studios):

"GS: The platform choices could be key for some of these titles. How are the conversations about what titles end up where going to go?

SJ: These guys are platform-agnostic. Bayonetta's on the next-gen platforms, Madworld's on the Wii... One of the things we really like about them is they're building teams and expertise around specific platforms. Instead of saying, "Today you're doing it on this, and tomorrow you're doing it on that," they're really trying to build up and leverage expertise. The stuff they're building on Bayonetta is the best stuff I've seen on next-gen. It's absolutely outstanding. "

1 - Awesome!
I didn't Expect a Good looking game from them (because its a New team + they are working on other Projects at the same time)

But still , I only care about the art Direction ... but clearly the Guy above is making big claims ( I know he is the publisher but still a bold claim )

Think abt Shinji Mikami games he made: RE3, DMC1, RE4. Okami he is one the best devs around and he will be like Hideo Kojima and Itagaki in matter of time with his studio.

Yea, thats as smart as if Nintendo's President was to think Mario Galaxy is in true 1080p HD and can make your Wii play Blu-ray DVDs and unicorns fall from the rainbow shooting from the Wiimote.

Guess that remains to be seen, no offence but it's always difficult to believe such claims from the guys who's making the game.

Still, the prospect looks interesting, the trailer kind of game me the feeling its a bit of a Devil May Cry rip.

and i went to a market research event around 5 months ago, regarding this game, and they demoed it to us. It looks absolutely gorgeous, and some of the finishing executions are absolutely incredible. Look out for this game. Sleeper hit in the making.

Of course it is. ex-Clover people led by creator of Devil May Cry are making Bayonetta. This game is gonna ROCK.

As for Sega, they are just the publishers.

It's bound to be awesome!
I'd much better seen Mad World on a more advanced console with a standard controller though as well, seems like a nice step up from God Hand in the brawler-genre. :)

A clever statement...he complements the work they're doing as outstanding without giving any specifics so he won't end up contradicting himself by saying something like, "we're doing things no other game has done graphically/technically," meaning the game probably isn't.

the most promising unknown title coming soon!! Sega better pull out some big guns in the marketing department if they want to sell this one.
