as far as i know it was also a family descision to have more time for wife and kids and a better location to live.

@below

"Microsoft officials say Moore, who was not available for comment, wanted to return to the Bay Area for family reasons (EA's headquarters is in Redwood City, Calif.)."

that makes more sense if thats true. tbh i think it's mainly cos of him that the 360 is where it is today, and i say that in a good way. The 360's been marketed better then the xbox, plus you guys got gta too

2.3 - @ Shadow Flare?
The xbox 360 also has all the flaws it does today due to him. Compare the 360 to the Dreamcast virtually every mistake was repeated. His ass was fired.

well, while i was thinking that, and im sure moore played a big part in it, not every mistake can be put down to him. I mean the rrod problem is a design flaw which is down to whoever designed the system. Saying that, they could have fixed it had they launched it later but they wanted to launch it early, aka probably moore was the cause of that. I mean those stories of him leaving for personal reasons are probably just sugar coat covers for him getting fired. He helped sink the dreamcast (why did ms hire him after that) and he helped cause many a problem and financial loses with 360. But like i said before, his brashness in trying to beat sony and having this real "me too" attitude resulted him getting 360 owners gta, hdmi, hd-dvd player (lol) but you know, good on him for the good things

i love the running disagrees here. It's like people just hit disagree when they see my name, do you even realise i was saying good things about moore? lol. But disagrees are meaningless if no-one can state why they disagree

just realised this is a fully xbox 360 article. That might be why. It's like driving through a field of bull's in a ferrari

the only mistake with the Dreamcast was done by blind Sony and Nintendo fanbois that never got a Dreamcast and missed out, talking sh!t about it without even playing it. And you're right the same mistake was done with 360. Sony fanbois never got it and missed out. :)

I got a 360, and I missed out on £300 :(

The best console is, of course, subject to opinion. I've owned both consoles, and I would tell you that the PS3 is the best one, in my eyes it's just a better machine, with better games out this year. However, I know others who own both, and prefer the 360. Hell, I know someone who owns all three, and prefers the Wii!

Anyone who doesn't believe that it's entirely subjective, and that anyone that supports a different console from them is stupid, or a fanboy because of that, is a silly person. You're not silly, are you?

No i'm not silly. But i'm not very smart either :(
I wasn't implying something wrong with the ps brand, i've had all three. I was implying that the only bad thing the 360 and Dreamcast share in common was the fact that some people dicided to miss out. Snd some decided to miss out and talk smack about them. I always try to respect peoples opinion so mine get respected in return, but u know thats all the Dreamcast and 360 have in common. Oh and that they decided to go with white plastic. White controllers showing dirt FTL.

Slow down there people.

Even if he was one of the people that want 360 to come before PS3 for marketing reasons, he cannot be held responsible to the fact that making the project quicker means testing and spending more, which other people inside MS decide to avoid to save some money...

11 - He's a very well-spoken individual who knows exactly how to play
the PR game. He's just had rotten luck with the consoles he's been associated with. Hopefully EA changes all that.

Ah the always 360 positive DJ... Well well

As far as I know he only had troubles with the Dreamcast, which obviously had to die because of no more funds to fight Sony/PS2.

The 360 is still 8 mln. units ahead of the PS3. Can you calculate how long it will take when the PS3 is even on par in sales?

Sorry dude, but you should wish this guy would have done the PS3 startup. Because all Ken left you with is a PS3 with only one exclusive on 90% average ratings (Uncharted), a free but sh!tty semi PC ripoff online system (no ingame XMB, no cross game invites, chats, achievement system or whatever) and only promisses and delays.

Sounds to me the PS3 is the rotten console here. Problem is, you all still buy Sony's lies and delayments. Even 1.5 years after its release.

Too bad Moore left. Because in USA, normally it is a good thing for example if someone went bankrupt with an own company. Because one has learned from it. It is seen as a positive thing. Its a good thing Moore saw what happened to the Dreamcast. For the 360 he did really great things, and too bad he left for family reasons.

Shadowflare, yes, you like to twist it also another way, but you rather may ask yourself why Barbie Ken had an early retirement with his PS3 baby there!

I read the article and the whole interview. Did any of you? There was a lot of good stuff in there. He gives PS3 props and says that it benefited very well from the GTA launch. You Sony fan boys should be eating this up.

I saw his pictures, and basically anything on the net. Never met him, so I'm sure I missed out on a great aquaintence. DreamCast was a good console. I played most of its good games, but I seriously think we need to not associate PR with what a console produces. Has any of us seen a car crash on the freeway? I'm sure we ALL have. Does that mean that we should ALL be associated with car crashes?

I guess if we're all drinking, sure:P
