Gamespot: Sonic Unleashed First Look

Sonic Unleashed is Sega's latest stab at getting Sonic the Hedgehog up to speed on the current generation of platforms. The company's mascot has seen some rough roads over the years with a broad array of titles that haven't really worked to his strengths. At Sega's recent press event we were given a look at Sonic Unleashed, which is an attempt to go back to the hedgehog's speedy platforming roots.

The PS3 version was just as bad. I remember shaking my head at all the reviews and thinking "It can't be THAT bad!". Little did I know. When the PS3 launched here (Europe)I went out to get my PS3 and along with it 2 games, R:FoM and Sonic. After playing both for 5 minutes I realized that I would sell one of them immediately. *Hint: I still have R:FOM*
Sonic just played like he was a turtle that has it's feet stuck in his own ass and is conveniently dieing of old age.

The Sonic gameplay looks good, glad their isn't a million other characters to play as but I am still concerned about the wolf aspect.

SEGA? If your listening, I have just one wish......re-release a HD version of Sonic 3 and Knuckles on PSN with brilliantly redone 2D shiny graphics and a remixed soundtrack and I will buy it the day it comes out!!!

In fact I bet a TON of people would buy this if it was ever made! Who's with me? :)

5 - HD Remakes
Sega, it would be great if you remade Sonic 1-3 w/Knuckles and Sonic CD in HD 3D graphics (ala Bionic Commando) for the XBLA and PSN. Take a hint from Capcom! We can only hope that Sonic Unleashed will do Sonic justice.
