Infinite configurations of levels and fun with friends for a long, long time. Banjo is a great looking title but I think it will be one I leave to my kids. I know LBP has a kiddie look in some ways but the community idea behind it makes me want to see what people will produce. My guess is this time next year we will still be hearing about LBP while Banjo will be in the bargain bin as another underappreciated RARE title. Not slamming on Banjo, just stating what seems to be the case with RARE titles these days. They are good titles but hight underappreciated.

I'd probably play both, the only thing that worries me is that LBP seems like it has no story and Banjo seems like it doesn't have enough platforming. :(.

Also I don't know if it's just me, but I really honestly hope that Penny Arcade flops, they just think they are better than every other game developer, yet their own game looks like a pile of sh*t.

If in fact there are similarities between the games, the comparison will be more like Banjo equating to the likes of a puddle while LBP is more of an ocean. Deeper, richer and a much more vast expanse of content coming from a growing community. It's all in the tools at the comunity's finger tips and from my take on it, the LBP devs seem to have created a set of tools that give us the users an endless palette for UCC. Not so much so in Banjo... This is just my take on it though.

i'm not that bothered about banjo or any other platformer to be honest. i will get it and play it, but mostly i will get it so the missus can play it. but i would'nt after finally hearing what it's all about, i would'nt be touting lbp as a system seller. sounds like a novelty game in all honesty...that's got flop written all over it... flame on fangirls, we'll see what september brings for that.

and, how can these two be compared? they're chalk and cheese! but i know fangirls like to have some sort of victory!

Back on topic:

Though I can see why they have made the comparison, the two titles have vastly different aims and will be very different. The language used by the MS marketing peeps is no doubt an attempt to try and tick some the same boxes, but banjo is essentially a 3D platformer with user customizable assets, where LBP is designed to generate user designed and sharable levels and content in way never seen before.

Theres no doubt I want to play Banjo and I will, but what LBP seems to offer and deliver is nothing short of revolutionary which is why its caused such a huge stir in the Dev community - its a truly visionary product, and theres not one games journalist who's had hands on thats not been totally absorbed by the titles charm and potential.

Little details on the Penny arcade game - but I'm actually rather intrigued by it and want to know more!

a)who is claiming its the second coming? Its just incredibly original and is gonna be one of the best titles coming this year

b)well when pretty much everyone besides your lonesome self is really excited for this game, then yes its a system seller. Especially since its demographic would appeal to wii gamers. Of course, alot of hardcore 360 gamers would never understand this game

c)you're in no postion to judge LBP since you obviously have no idea what its about. Think of it like gamings version of youtube, because thats what it is. Its a fully physics based world were you design the entire level. Watch some videos and educate yourself. Even though its not worth it, cos you'll just bash it anyway

also titntin is right, before you edited your comment, it was out of order what you said. I know thats the kind of person you are though considering that PM you sent me containing every swear word you could think of. Don't snap, it makes you look like a fool
