No Alan Wake In 2008

A Microsoft Spokesperson has told TVG that Microsoft's Gamers Day (soon to start in San Francisco) is showcasing all of the company's major game releases for 2008, strongly suggesting that triple A title Alan Wake (which isn't on show at the event) will quietly slip into the 2009 release window that gamers all probably knew but hoped wouldn't happen.

Billed as a free roaming, psychological thriller that takes place across six square miles of the town Bright Falls, Alan Wake was originally announced at E3 2005 and subsequently revealed as an Xbox 360/PC exclusive at E3 2006. Since then everything has gone extremely quiet, not even a new trailer in the subsequent years.

I am so sad.Well we will just have to make do with what we are going to get.NG2,Too Human,Banjo3,Gears 2,Fable 2,Halo Wars and Infinite Undiscovery.

Not looking to bad but Alan wake would have been a great addition.

It still not delayed as much as Alan Wake....Killzone 2 is aready up and running...its not vaporware...and it will come out in 2009....and it will be awesome. The developers just needed time...and money and they got both.....and its good that gears 2 comes out before killzone 2...because we all know Killzone 2 will look and hopefully play better than Gears 2.

PC/360 Exclusive is MS's own definition of exclusive. The obvious people will tell you that it's Microsoft exclusive and you have to give money to MS because of windows..yada yada.

It's a contradiction. The game will be available on PC and on the 360. People that have the 360 might not have a PC that handles the game and people with gaming PC's might not have an xbox 360.

So the term "PC/360 exclusive" only makes sense to MS and 360 fanatics.

There's been more info and trailers about Killzone 2 and it's coming Februrary 2009, but there's been nothing shown about Alan Wake. Alan Wake is probably at least another year away.

Oh no this is poo! I was looking forward to this title! Now there really is nothing to get me excited for my 360. Gears1 was ok but for me was just another shooter and i doubt Gears2 will be any different. NG2 does not appeal to me, and Too Human is really not my type. Maybe Splinter Cell will spark some interest but i`ve never been crazy for the series. I`m a huge racing games fan but the x360 is lacking racing games this year. Seriously i can`t see anything big for my x360 gaming this year. Never mind, as long as i got the ps3 i don`t need to worry.

I suspect this is a deliberate strategy. Seeing how weak the line up of the competition is for this year, it makes sense not to overkill by releasing one too many of their AAA titles this year.

This sucks, but there are already too many great games on 360 this year, so it's not a big deal.

I'd be more pissed-off if I only owned a PS3 and only had maybe one or two games worth playing all year.

Seriously, reading all your droid comments is just embarrassing. Your NUMBER ONE PS3 "savior" game (Greyzone 2, made by a crap developer, no less) got delayed yet again. Believe it or not, that's different than Alan Wake getting delayed. Jesus Christ, you fanboys are stupid.

WOW.. I guess you havent looked at the release list for PS3.. Saying we have only 1 game.. Hmm Haze (not saying it will be huge).. MGS4/MGO thats enough to make most gamers happy for a year.. SOCOM (my personal fave).. LBP prolly the most innovative and creative game that might come out.. Motostorm... I mean even SingStar..
