EA and Tiburon have set the bar high this year with Madden NFL 09, providing not only 60fps gameplay for the PlayStation 3 platform but rethinking and improving much of their game mechanics and A.I. system. every year they say the same thing, madden is finally going next gen. it was said o7, and o8. So far, the next gen versions are still missing features that the ps2 version has. Im tired of words, i want some results

I'm waiting on a better trade in for yearly sports games. I hate the fact that i buy madden 08 and when madden 09 comes out its only worth 8 bucks. IF EA were a little less greedy they would realize this would benefit them a lot more.

Looks like the same old incremental changes and roster updates to me.

EA has absolutely no incentive to change with no competition and the millions of casual gamers that buy their product every year.

Usually I am skeptical when buying a new Madden NFL for $60 as in the past I didnt feel it was up to par...but for anyone who loves football, Madden 09 is a MUST BUY!

3 - I may be back this year
I bought Madden every year for 17 years in a row. I didn't buy Madden last year for the first time in a while because of the inferior PS3 version EA decided to come out with. So I had a boycott against them until they stepped it up. I may forgive them this year and be back in the trenches. Bring it!

as said above,they say this every year.and the result is the same game.

now,BACKBREAKER on the other hand,looks to be a contender.if madden is adding natural motion or euphoria,then i might be impressed.but we'll see.....

I would love a non-licensed Pro football game and I dont want any lame gimmick like "hall of famers" making all your other players useless either.

I just want a good, solid, next gen football game where I can build a team and play through several years while tweaking my team and trying to make it to the final game.

I am sick of the lazy development from EA AND the Overhyped/self absorbed criminals...I mean players... in the NFL. Most are not nearly as good as their "hype" machine make them.

I would much rather play a non-licensed game or an NCAA game (at least after a few game years the overhyped ones go away). So Madden I am not even looking at. I may break down and get NCAA (but then I still have to deal with no advancement since 04) but I would love the option of having something like backbreaker out there.

Well, it seems as though EA have got up off of their LAZY fat A**es and are giving the PS3 version the attention it deserves.

I don't give a CRAP about Madden, but I'm glad to hear that it will be 60FPS for the PS3 because the only reason why it wasn't 60FPS previously for the PS3 is because EA was too lazy to do it or because their dumb developers couldn't even figure it out. I'm just glad Sony's first party game titles set the bar for next-gen gaming.

Lol. I'll be impressed with Madden when it finally reaches that Target Trailer released way back when. In three years, they have made no visual progress at all. Same crappy character models, same crappy grass, same crappy low-res crowds, same canned animations (where's the Euphoria use?), and same crappy lighting.

Football is a sport, killing people is not, in my opinion and many others.
Playing football out side with friends once and a while is a great way to get rid of the "white" on your skin.

As everyone knows, you start to pail if removed from sun light exposure, no mater how dark your skin is to begin with.

I just want a real football game, without money plays and cheeseing.
Just like madden '05 that was a football game you had to know football to be good in. Have you noticed NFL players aren't the champions anymore now its kids who run 4 total plays all game?
