Why would that be bad at all? Gears of War was an enormous hit, won piles of game of the year awards, sold very well, and got excellent reviews.

The game *should* be compared to its original.

Now that they've just created about the best looking game consoles have ever seen, you'd expect them to show how much better it looks from its original, which is still an exceptional achievement.

Listen, we all know you hate all Xbox 360 exclusives, so spare us your FUD.

Really though, how much better did ppl expect the graphics to be with its limited developement time? Same can be said for Resistance 2. But really, for Gears2 to be a better game they're going to have to focus on more than just graphics. How about some weapon variety. So far I've been a little let down on the only new weapon additions being poison grenades and a revised hammer burst.

Alot has changed since Gears1 launched. For one, there is more competition in the 3rd person shooter dep. Games like Red Faction, Damnation, and even the new Socom look like they have the ability to give Gears a run for its money.

Take Red Faction: Guerilla for ex. This game looks like a mix of Halo and Gears. It is 3rd person, and will feature the most destructable env. to date w/ vehicles to boot. The Graphics in this game are CLEAN!

Ultimately Gears2 success will be measured on how well it stacks up to these games.

5.5 - Socom and Damanation
Are themselves from Unreal Engine. The game looks to good now the draw distance the sharpness has really increased the color pallete has been improved and they are in alpha stage right now and still the frame rates are solid so the aesthetics will improve but still the game looks great.

It's a graphical upgrade over Gears 1, for sure, a minor one, but that's all it really needed.

In fact, I can't really find any fault apart from 1 thing.

The backgrounds are too hazy for my liking. I know it's about scale, but I'd like to be able to see a bit further into the background. I know this can be changed later, but the view is a bit limited.

But, still no match for the Darkside. Have fun waiting for your Savior GOW 2, while the Dark Side of the force be playing , MGS4, LBP,Socom, and of course me on Soul Calibur 4, your little Yoda is no match for me.

Not Bad...Graphics same like Gear of war 1 ,they just add what they have to do in GOW 1...Better lighting, some realism environments and better action...that is all...same game

but I can wait for a better PC version .. they must add a more emotional story to this game..

other than story it looks and play Awesome.. BTW I played both 360 and PC version of Gears of war .

pros:
smooth gameplay
awesome character models
one of the best textures
amazing cover system
corpse physic
BLOOD
nice headshot for sniper :D

cons:
Gun sound (looks like its a Spray not a GUN )
ultra unrealistic death animation (enemies looks ok till the last shot,then flyin in air! )
boring story (no story imo,why Phoenix was in prison? why he hate his boss at first?....etc )
boring level design ( no variety , just 3 kind of level - train,old house or church?,underground )
low res lighting on 360,but better lighting on PC

Yeah I was confused with the story as well... but they say a lot of those questions were answered in a book... i'm not gonna buy no friggin gears of war novel lol hopefully this stuff gets answered in part 2.

For all your complaints

Gears of War 1 is still one of the most respected games of the generation, it won piles of Awards, sold very well and got excellent reviews.

So, for all your "faults", know this: Its as good a videogame as you can buy today.

But, I'm sure you're not able to play it anway.

I love geow1, my fav game on 360, but this didnt look worth 60$ to me.
Unless they show more new stuff I wont buy it, graphics do look slightly better but that and 2 new guns and chain duel isnt enough.
I guess they still have time and probably they havent revealed everything yet so I be hoppin' :)
