WOW. Bugging out indeed. Really really impressive. Some parts of that fvkin looked like CGI. They added some color indeed. Gears of war not ki11lz0wn3d after all lol:D

Edit: Watched it like 3 times. In terms of graphical detail and textures, looks the same. Lighting is improved and its noticable imo and then color. They really added more color into this. The 100 enemy thing wasn't very impressive to me though. Overall still looks fvkin fantastic. A system seller if i ever saw one. The heat is on Insomniac...Don't dissapoint on June 13

It looked great but it looked like more of the same. Don't get me wrong I love GOW but it just didn't knock my socks off. It got me excited to play it but It's no longer a system seller. It still looks to be 4-5 locust vs your 3 soliders. I saw the screens with 100 locust but it looks like that may just be a " i'm riding in a car and it's driving by them so I can shoot at them". I doubt it will have 100 locust all with complicated AI.

I give this trailer an 85.

I definitely agree with you Kevoncox on the multiple onscreen locusts. Honestly, it was exactly like the tech demo. The hoard of locusts are following a pre-determined path and are just part of the scenery that can be shot at, but little else. The graphics look more colorful and I was certainly impressed with what they've been able to improve on the dated engine, but still more of an extension or evolution compared to GOW1. I think GOW1 really did hit the 360 almost to the max, and what we are seeing is a little bit more of what they can eke out w/ improved coding.
I mean given that even after 2 years, GOW is still the benchmark for 360 games... shouldn't that be a sign?

And yes you are completely right about encounters... i still only see about 3-5 enemies per encounter.

That is because all we saw was a rail shooter. Platforms on a rail with nice blurred scenery. A Killzone 2 or Resistance 2 competitor? Hardly. As I said in the other forum, last time Gears had the football and there was not any defense on the field. They had a free open run. Now they are old hat as it looks largely the same.

And this time there are some 500Ib linebackers on the field that eat offensive linemen and running backs for breakfast.

Normally a company would come out swinging their big stick. If that is it then they will be lucky to get a base hit.

has guerrilla games produced a good game? No.
was killzone 1 a halo killer? No.
did killzone 1 suck? Yes.
does killzone 2 have awesome graphics? Yes.
does the gameplay look like anything you haven't seen a thousand times before? No

and your excitement comes from......what? graphics alone? wow, real winner there guys.

now i'll admit killzone 2 has some serious graphics but what's the point of having amazing graphics if the game sucks? i remember when killzone 1 came out, the graphics were way better than halo. sony fanboys were all saying this was "the halo killer" and well look how that turned out. man i think people would have had a better time staring at a piece of sh!t...ok, so the game wasn't terrible, just bad. all i'm saying is, based on the developer's track record i don't see why your all thinking this game is going to be "the sh!t"? if anything it's most likely going to be sh!t.

i'd love for guerrilla games to deliver on the hype, but at this point they're a bunch of no bodies waving a fancy turd in your face and your all buying into it.

oh, on a side note, npd's hardly show any ps3 game on the top 10 list every month. ps3 hardware sales are really good but software and blu ray sales aren't.
my question is, what the heck are you guys using your ps3 for?

all I see is on-the-rails shooting set against a backdrop with a few locust coming at you and flying things with a set path. It looks nice but it nothing I didn't expect. Atleast we have great gameplay ?

Thats what we call "in your face Sony" only Microsoft slapped it there. Looks like this game has alot more action than before, lots of new weapons, enimies, and gameplay. Gears of War set the bar for console graphics, and I would think it's safe to assume that Gears of War 2 has done it again. Why does the 360 still continue to be the console of choice for online, games, media, and graphics? I mean hell, it's the oldest of the current gen systems and it still has the best games and best graphics. To bad Sony you had your chance and you blew it, maybe you will do better next round, because this is two round in a row in which you have failed to beat the Xbox in graphics.

There is no need to own PS3 fans today, this video does it for us. Go write those spin blogs PS3 fans, and Gears 2 going PS3 rumors. Have a nice weekend guys, if you can.

Nice "photo chop" Kazuo Hirai, make Gears 2 blurry and use the CGI shot from Killzone 2, that doesnt expose your insecurities one bit (rolls eyes) Nice try though (ROFLMMFAO) I'm sure it will work in a Playstation forum or over at Sony Defense Force.

Pro :

-The new lighting
-Character instancing
-Meatshield :D (awesome addition i love it in any game its possible.)
-Brrruuuuumaks :)
-Awesome Style and graphics
-Intense action very much going on on screen
-Super sweet framerate
-Chainsaw duel
-Destructable enviro (havent been shown yet)

Contra:
-New gun doesn't look that innovativ but nice nonetheless. (gow guns were allways a letdown as they are only standard bulletspitters mostly)
-Chainsaw duels are kinda disapointing for me i thought we get a lil fight system instead of a buttonmasher minigame.
-instance horde ai looks very dull but nevermind its a nice animated (something to shoot at) element and we have yet to see how it gets implemented further.
-rail-shooting level. So far this video was a scripted ride through a background, its awesome candy for the eyes but gameplay wise you just sit there and gundown approaching enemys, i hope we see more gameplay additions. But this awefully looks like the trainride at the end of gow1 instead its at daylight and on a driller, approaching flying locust on predetermined paths, locusts you gun down on your way forward and this time a brumak instead of RAM at the end.

Please epic please i want more interactive environment couse atm this is still a coridor shooter gameplay even thought its an open outdoor enviro, i wanna DRIVE THAT MOFO the path i want it to go, at least by some part not openworld, but i would love to change the gameplay on a second playthrough at least a little.....

i dont know about these added colour comments?? if you turn the video settings to vibrant in the first gears, it totally changed the look of the game.
