Don't compare a mindless frag fest crap mulitplayer of resistance to Gears, which had extremely fun more personal tactical combat. More doesn't always mean better at all, which I doubt you even played gears or you'd realize this by now. If you'd actually watch the gamer's day footage the Resistance devs admit just, and say they're trying to facilitate the action into smaller groups so it's not just a mindless frag fest. We have yet to see if they're able to pull it off. After that they still need to match the utmost fun factor of the game play in Gears, which will be their hardest task.

It'll be a damn good game, that's for sure, but... there are plenty of games that are looking pretty damn good too. Killzone 2, from the latest gameplay vid of a pre-Alpha build, is going to give GeOW2 a run for it's money, no matter how good it is, as will Resistance 2 in the multiplayer department, and MGS4 in just about everything else.

All doubts aside, it should be among the best games of 2008. If it's not, I will cry myself to sleep for eight consecutive nights.

I don't think many "people" hate on Gears. I only own a PS3 and can fully appreciate the original for what it was and in fact still is. The only real Haters are the Fanboys and there's plenty of them on both sides. There's some great looking PS3 exclusives that have met nothing but biased hate as well.

I love UT3 and the additions to the unreal Engine look very solid to say the least. I can't wait to see more footage and I don't even own a console that will run it (yet).

Gamers can appreciate a title regardless of which platform it's on, it's only fanboys who have to make rediculous comments on a game they're never likely to play.
