the lockup wasnt only affecting the ps3 it was also affecting the 360
n4g just had a whole lot of articles stating the ps3 gta4 was locking up and no 360 ones.
but hopefully both consoles will get patched soon and everyone can play happily ever after

it's basically who ever see who first that get the kill, and that's a huge letdown in MP... i can't believe it never was mentioned in the reviews... it truly does sukk...

I got lucky and hosted a room last night and had autoaim off all night. A lot of the times I beg the host to turn it off and he wont!

WTF is auto aim on in MP anyways. If it was like warhawk it wouldnt be THAT bad. But when I play, I want to play with people with skills... not players that can run towards dots on the map and push the fire trigger.

if you get stuck in a room where the host wants to keep autoaim, you can kick him out and get a new host if the majority votes for it : ) only been able to do this a few times since alot of people seem to be clueless about how to kick players, but it works

Here's how I fixed it. I unplugged my network cable, deleted the GTA file under game data, reinstalled the game and played past the first few save points in single player. It works fine for me now even with the network cable plugged in.

I have a 60GB PS3 and I haven't downloaded the patch yet.

Did someone tried to clean the disk? I had that problem ONCE in a 40g PS3 and got fixed by cleaning the disk, I install it first on my 60g PS3 and had no problems at all.

comparing rrod to cancer...you cant be serious...but sabbath is right...playing through gears of war there were plenty of reports of rrod..I even experienced it...now it seems since ps3 has its big game it shows the problems in their console with freezing and even blu-ray drive failures...stop being a blind ass droid and open your eyes jackass.

It really has nothing to do with cancer the same point would've been reached if i had said.

Reporting every new RROD case at this point in time would be like reporting everytime a car has engine failure. It's just not news worthy anymore and it doesn't seem to going anywhere. Besides if Microsoft had found a fix the articles would've been hard to keep up with the articles. Just like when the falcon chips where announced and everyone expected that to be the fix. Then it later proved that it wasn't thus the problem still exsists, just not worth reporting every case anymore.

how the hell am I "failing to recognize" the problems with xbox...I have had rrod...and admitted it...too funny..qnd whats wrong with kotaku...we will find out the the coming months why the problems with the ps3 version of gta4 and one of us is wrong...and again...those freezing problems on the xbox are going too be RRODS...the problems on the ps3 version is more rampant since there is a patch as we speak and not many people are up in arms about problems on xbox because there are smaller then the ones on the ps3....thats fact..there are 12 steps for solving the freezing problems and most of those fixes are ps3 specific...tell me im wrong...and here is the link before you say show you proof

The 12 step or whatever fix was basically tellin you to disconnect you're PS3 from PSN and the internet in general. Now i don't know about you but that goes hand in hand with Rockstar offically STATING that the problem was with the gamespy servers.

So up until now there has been no offical word from Rockstar that stated the PS3's hardware as to be blamed.

I never stated that there was a 12 step fix for the Xbox360 version of GTA4 so i really don't understand the reasoning behind you're question. The point we are debating is the fact that you are on you're campaign of doom to blame the PS3 hardware for the GTA4 issues.
