All they did was add different texture and slapped on a different code of paint. Where's the different tackles, QuarterBack FPview, Crowd interaction, different Animation for the sideline/Cheerleaders and most important of all, the freaking run game.

The animations seem like an upgrade to me. Overall the visuals seem better. The shadows are much improved and the lighting gives the game a more realistic look to it. It could be argued whether the characters sport more polygons. Here is hoping that Madden this year is more than a simple retooling and has other things different aside from graphics.

I saw the shadow popins in 09 lol. The only difference i see is the grass and more camera flashes lol. Im not racist but i bet 90% of the people that buy this game will be black. I have asked at least 30 people at my job if they got GTA 4. Every single black guy I asked (6)said "no i only play Madden." Then i told them they should try Dynasty Warrior. No one got the joke...

Graphics are spruced up a bit. Looks like they are getting closer to that first target video they had a while back, but still a ways off. Even still, it looks better than last year even if marginally so.

A lot of you are complaining that its the same game. Of course its the same game! Its been practically the same game since it went full 3D. It is a yearly release afterall.

But there is one thing that this game has over the previous ones that will ensure a buy from me: ONLINE LEAGUES.

The graphics look better so congrats to them on that. However some things that I imagine many people care about were not displayed. As far as the gameplay goes, there was no commentary on '09's video. I know there will be in the final game but I'd of liked to have seen if it's new commentary to go with the new graphics or if its the same old boring "radio broadcast" guy that makes the game about as exciting as virtually playing croquet.

More importantly than how the game plays is does it work? Last year, Franchise mode took until Week 14 (December) of last season to work like it should have in August. (For those of you that don't know, the main mode of Madden became unplayable after the Free Agent pool ran out of players at certain positions. Due to that the teams couldn't fill their rosters, therefore the game would not allow you to continue playing because a team had empty positions.) That situation must not happen again, the game promised up to 30 seasons and it rarely delivered past 3 until the NFL season was almost over. I've never played 30 seasons but I certainly play more than 2 and I can only hope that they don't make this mistake again.

I don't jump on the bandwagon of boycott but I would advise caution before shelling out 60 dollars on release day. Personally I'd wait a week or so (heck someone's going to try simming Franchise the first day) just to see if this has been fixed...if you play franchise. If you only play online or say only play one season then start over then I imagine '09 will work just fine.

EA needs to go to an every other year formula where they spend 2 years working on the graphics and game play and release a roster update for the current version. They could even charge 10 dollars for the update and it would be better then releasing the same game every year.
