Thank you. The PS3 Freeze problem fixed. 360 freezes are not. I think when 360 freeze because of this game they RROD, so its really missed up if this game freezes while playing the xbox version

how many times are you to have to do this. Especially at the cost of a 7+ minute HD install. Also, what do you do if you have to delete your install after getting halfway through the game. Call it a fix if you want, I call it a nightmare waiting to happen.

360 Launch console, NO PROBS.

Sorry, but everything I witnessed today with Gamestop selling tons of 360 titles, the 7+ min HD install, the video comparisons and now the freezing issues on the POS3, it's over. The POS3 is down and out until MGS and even that will be marginal.

@CERULA: tell that someone who waited for GTA4 for a long time, has this problem and I'm pretty sure he/she would love to fry your brain with just staring at you. No offense mate but I would be boiling with anger and drowning in sadness if it would happen to me.

Maybe statistically it isn't major problem but still, there are people who are pissed off or disappointed by this issue.

So, everyone who has freezing problem: Little patience and I honestly hope R* and Sony/Microsoft will do something about it so all of us can play and love the game.

last day i bought the PS3 Special Edition's GTAIV, tried to install everything went fine. Start to play and bang. After a cut-scene it freezes. Deleted the game data, installed again and bang, another freeze, tried 4 times. One of the times it was freezed when the game install was running, really strange. had to turn of the console in the power switch at the back. I hope Rockstar solve this SH!T the soon as possible cause the SE cost 120 euros... and i and all the people with the problems want only to play. It was our money invested in the game. We deserve quick response. It's the least they can do.

P.S. - and it is a 60 Gb console

it's not that it's not true. It's just that the bulk of us will not have a problem and only a few will. But in the grand scale of things the internet fuels these kinds of stories. Where there's 50 XB 360 owners, and 50 PS3 owners who have this kind of problem it's a full scale epidemic. When in reality there's 5oo,ooo plus gamers out there playing this game w/o a hitch right now. I never doubt an underlying problem but the internet does always blow things up and make them sound A LOT LARGER than they actually are...

I didnt know, that BOTH launch platforms mean just the Ps3. In the otherhand, if they are only speaking about how to fix the Ps3 version, maybe there is no way to fix the 360 version yet.

He did ask me to make sure that my harddrive wasn't full and that I had the latest firmware update, but confessed that that really isn't what's causing most of the problem. He also said that the Xbox 360 is having the "exact same problem," which has further stumped their tech folks.

Yes trade in your early model ps3s that's having problems playing one game that could probably be fixed with a patch for a system that could possibly break the second you hit the power button thus forcing you to deal with crappy customer service and sending them your console for weeks to repair only for them to call you a thief if you ever wanted it back. i have 60 gig and install was about 7mins.
while i dont think the issue is complete bullshit, i do get the sense this is being blown completely out of proportion.

if its got problems on both systems as well the fault has got to be on the part of R*. but then again i also blame MS/Sony. if they had stuck to a single release console, rather than cosntantly fuking around with the hardware inside this would be a non issue.
