Gears of War surprise hidden in 360 UT3

Mark Rein, vice president of Epic Games, has told VideoGamer.com that there is a hidden reference to Gears of War in the 360 version of FPS Unreal Tournament 3.

"The game (Gears 2) is spectacularly good," he told VideoGamer.com. "I'm not committing to any features. In the mean time, buy UT3. There might be a surprise in UT3 that's Gears related. Just saying. In the 360 version. You'll have to buy the game and find out."

I took a break from shooters...This is just something I thought epic might of done and I was right, that's all.

I prefer the PS3 hints to Gears of war, kinda like playing as all the characters thanks to modding. Im guessing the 360s reference isnt as good as that? Maybe a COG sprayed on a wall somewhere? ...Awsome...

Wow funny how some of the very same comments by you all are the same ones bragging about PS3 being exclusive all these months, PS3 with mods. Now the very same people prasing Rein are the same ones calling him desperate or he is crazy. Sad how some of you forget your comments on this site.

14.1 - To the clueless dork above...
1.) UT3 was NEVER a PS3 "exclusive". It released on PC/PS3 initially, with a delay in the 360 version due to unresolved issues with MS. EPIC wanted simultaneous release, with crossplatform online play between all 3 versions, as well as mod support for all. MS wasn't willing to go along with the latter two, so EPIC delayed dev on the 360 version until a compromise could be made.

2.) If you truly believe that MS just throws $$ at Western devs, so that the 360 games would somehow turn out better than other platforms, then you're too stupid for words. Devs don't WANT any version of their games to be "inferior"...it's bad for business. Compromises have to be made, based on differences in hardware...or online configs...and every dev handles those things differently. Sony is NOTORIOUS for having atrocious 3rd party dev support, and even more so for their lackluster online network, and support. MS has had a close relationship with devs for YEARS in those areas, due to PC gaming...and even more, since the XBOX/Live era began. It may be a love/hate relationship...but the majority of the industry still prefers what MS offers,in DirectX, XNA, Windows, and Live, over what their "competition" has to offer.

3.) Learn to spell.

Another game company backing 360 up. EA admitted 360 if their top choice to develope for,Capcom said they are working on more 360 games in 2008 than any other system,Epic is backing 360 up with 6 new games this year.

definatley not wasting money on a ps3 ill wait for a ps4 if it turns out good. wii and 360 own this console war.

18 - Not interested in Gears 2 enough to buy this game again.
Sorry, but I have it on the PS3 and that is more than enough for me. With all the free mods, this game has paid for itself time and time again on the PS3 and no special easter eggs in the 360 version will convince me to drop another 60 bucks on a gimped version. Heck, even GameStop has the game new this weekend for 35 bucks. Can't beat that with a stick. I'll just wait for somebody to YouTube the easter egg. lol
