I don't know what to say. The first 3 screens don't look like I would expect Gears of War 2 to look like. However, the scans of the Game Informer article look as if they are extremely good, but I can't tell for sure due to the blurriness of the pictures.

Yea, it seems like concept art to me. And regardless its WAY too early to get any real idea on what gow2 will actually look like. I'll wait for some gameplay vids or at the very least an in game screenshot before I even begin to form an opinion.

Resistance 2 will be chaotic and intense, due to 60 players online and 8 player co-op. Gears 2 um.. 5 vs 5 multiplayer? LOL!

FirstKnight, you're incredible bias makes your points uncredible. "[Gears 2] easily be the best multiplayer game of 2008". Multiplayer was never a standout feature of the Gears series. I mean get real 5v5? EPIC. Of all the games out there with potentially brilliant multiplayer features, (even GTA IV which is on xbox 360) you chose the Xbox 360 Exclusive. If you're gonna do that, why not mention a better xbox 360 game known for its great multiplayer? Cos there are none this year, only Gears 2. Easily the best multiplayer, get real. Don't you get a hint when NOBODY talks about Gears 2's multiplayer, but when that article about Resistance 2 featuring 60 player online and 8 player co-op went up, everyone went wild and the article hit over 1000 degrees. Insomniac are brilliant developers. Saying stuff like, "Gears 1 crushed Resistance 1 in multiplayer" just shows how far your cranium is up Microsoft's crap tunnel

What's wrong with so many commenters on N4G? Anyone who says that multiplayer was not a major feature of Gears 1 has obviously never played Gears 1. Seriously, the single player campaign in Gears was not very long, that was one of its weaknesses. But it's so fun to play co-op even with people you don't know, and Versus is just amazing and unique. I admit it's hard to get into; at first I didn't like Versus because it is different from most FPS games and so I wasn't any good. But when you get into it, it is a one-of-kind experience, regardless of what people say. I have been playing shooters since the original Doom, and Gears is not the same as any of them. Multiplayer may not be for everyone, but it is a HUGE part of Gears series, and Epic knows that, so I am expecting something big in Gears 2.

As for as GTAIV, I'm convinced that the single player game will be amazing, but I'm not so sure that the multiplayer will be great just because there's a lot of game modes. For a franchise that has been centered on single player, I think it'll be hard for the game to be the best multiplayer game of the year. But I'm sure it will be competition, since it is Rockstar, after all.

as a primarily PC gamer i can honestly say without a doubt that those screens look worse than the PC version of UT3. I, am not impressed(and honestly, what can you expect from a low/mid gaming PC, the 360). However, if people like the game, then get the second. That's the beauty of games, they're supposed to be fun. So if you have fun playing it, if YOU have fun, then get it. since when did everything become just about graphics? 360 fanboys need to stop trying to convince PS3 fanboys that the 360 is superior, because it isn't. "Better" in games is whats "more enjoyable" for you. So, I like the PC and PS3, because, i think they're better. They have better games for ME. ugh, im sick of these threads of ignorance. Cusses aside, it doesn't look bad. But it looks shockingly like Gears 1. That's all I can say. The olcatios are differen,t but the upgrade in graphics is minimal, lets hope they do somethign with the gameplay. Not that it was bad gameplay last time, just that, I don't want Gears of War: The continued story.

Yes, maybe on the POS3 but it doesn't have any of the glaring issues on the 360. Since you are PS3 I guess you are basing this completely off your experience with UE3 on your system.

The first pic looks like in game...looks just like Avalanche in UT3, only with wooden cabins insteadof stone temple things...I am only saying that UE3 is definitely capable of whatever that first pic is...

the second pic is very obviously artwork...and the third, not sure...it doesn't look overly detailed to be ingame...but it looks very different compared to Gears/UT3 character models...

I know Gears 2 will look better than these art shots. I just wished you would think that instead of comparing these bland screens as anything PS3 should even be worried about.

But buddy, please find a PS3 this year to play on. Go to a friends house, kiosk, wherever. PS3 graphics were insane last year, and they damn sure are not playing around this year.

Hey squelchy dont offend the followers of great MGS. THese are real spies who got trained on throwing dirty magazines to fool enemies and turn themselves into cardboardboxes/garbage cans etc. Also since they eat snakes and other reptiles, they have become chameleon and change themselves to look like tiles or toilet seats etc. Last time i saw the mgs4 trailer, it reminded me of the color of my pi$$ when i had jaundice all green and orangy.
