The fault lies within their pc engine. It uses DirectX libraries and I think thats what the installation was for on the PS3. To install those drivers to run the game.

The BS about loading was nothing but BS. Think about it, why force the installation?

has butifull graphics. the game is a bit repetive but that dosent change a bit. the game is a 8.9- 9.3 in my book.

I think that RE5 will do better becous the devs is learning how to use the power of the ps3.

Heck, I guess that would explain 98% of "all" inferior multiplatform games on the PS3. Well... that or the PS3 is an inferior platform to design on. One or two devs get it right here and there, but they have to spend months to a year extra just to get it right.

And what is with all this installing before playing? I'm really sorry for the 20gb PS3 owners...I know they could easy go out and buy a bigger HDD, but I guest they don't care.

It must really be annoying when you want to take your DMC4 copy to a friend's house and you have to wait 20 min to play.

HAHA the funny thing is Capcom is like the only Company that has Installs for the PS3.. No game I own has it.. Capcom is just stupid and doesnt know what its doing...If im not mistaken hasnt all PS systems been difficult to dev for in the begining and then 2 years and beyond you start seeing a HUGE Jump in graphics and gameplay.. I mean I could be wrong but Sony seems to be following a familiar path... a path that usually leads to victory...

My only problem with the Install thing is how can a game as pretty as COD 4 on the PS3 not require a Install but other games do. I think the Install thing is a work around until developers get better at making games for the PS3.

Was making the PS3 difficult to program - that made a lot of developers make the 360 the lead platform (cause they kinda need to sell a game eventually in order to make payroll). The architecture was poorly thought out and doesn't make sense for gaming code. That being said - you can make it work if you try. But that is why Gabe said it does nothing for anyone other than develop a hatred for the architecture.

MS's mistake was releasing the XBOX 360 with a cooling system that was marginal - it caused (or will cause) the initial batch of XBOX 360 to fail much sooner than they should. The issues have been mostly fixed but the number of people having problems has tainted the XBOX 360's image.

Sony's advantage is Bluray, MS's advantage is cost. It will be interesting to see how everything works out in the end. Will the additional value of having a bluray player (along with a large number of popular sequels) be enough to overcome the cost advantage MS enjoys?

Time will tell - but it seems like Sony has no chance to easily win this generation so I wonder if Sony regrets their strategic decisions. I am sure MS does (cause no one wants to make an unreliable product).

As someone who has moved from PC games to PS3 games ALL of the people whining about installs are a bunch of babies. Change your diapers, take this pacifier, and STFU! You cannot run a PC game without installing some part of that game on the hard drive. I expect patches for games when they dont work the way the developer intended.

You all make it seems like life as you know it will end some how if you have to spend a few minutes when you first boot up a game with downloads. You're trading a few minutes, maybe an hour before playing a game for faster load times as well as hours and hours of pure unadulterated fun without having to worry about other subsequent downloads.

I will ALWAYS support downloads that improve game playability or quality regardless of the system. I rather wait at the dinner table for a proper metal steak knife to cut my $50 fillet mignon then struggle like a ravenous dog trying to cut that same portion of tender beef with a dull plastic butter knife. In the end I'm still eating that same cut of meat and enjoying it a bit more because I waiting for the proper tools to enjoy it.

For those people who must have immediate gratification I hope you go the way of the dinosaur, or the Tasmanian wolf, the days of games not having patches and updates is OVAH. Especially now that the line between PC and Console games is getting more blured by the minute. Keep it moving b**ches!

thats what was supposed to separate consoles from PC's. the pick up an play ability an not having to spend alot on a rig to run these games!! on the PS3 a few games are taking away that pick up a play ability!! an DMC4 isnt the only game with an install. VF5 has one also an last time i checked capcom doesnt make VF. the installs arent that big a deal as long as they dont take over 3-4 minutes anything longer than that is a problem(for me anyways)

was never a big fan of DMC

but still

Its not like you cant delete stuff. Im sure many 360 owners using memory cards do it weekly...and if they need a bigger HDD they get out the lube and bend over....
