The Real Cost of Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation

Microtransactions are new to this generation. They can really add to the value of a game, but some developers have been abusing them. Adding all the marketplace content for Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation reveals how expansive downloadable content can get.

1 - Wow 90+ $$$$
I really think all of us gamers got to stand up to this crap now.

A good start would be boycotting the new batlefield which is shipping with tons of dlc right on the f ing disk.

nothing will change while people keep buying this crap.
looks like games will have 70% of a full product and 30% downloadable. it's really sad that this is the new trend but if people keep buying it then it won't stop.

3 - Hey this is what happens
when MS buys an exclusive.....

How many songs do you think they could have fit on Rock Band? Hundreds im guessing but why should they if they can make money on every song the want to add....

That Ace Combat stuff is a joke. Buy a plane!!! WTF is that

Its like Bad Comapny! They want to charge for weapons?!?!? If you buy that game your a jerk off and thats the bottom line. You dont care about where you spend your money and your not informed enough to make a difference in this world

In another topic.they had two sets of DLC before the game even arrivd in my country. And it was only 2 weeks later than the U.S launch.ridiculous ! ! And I finishd this game to death.every difficulty level.every paint scheme. Yet I always felt knwing about how much DLC it has ruind the experience for me.

I can honestly see micro transactions getting out of hand. It's already getting to that point in my opinion.

6 - Last I checked,
DLC didn't do anything for this game. You didn't get to the end, only to be told you'll have to make a separate download purchase to partake in the last battle. No one has to buy a single piece of dlc to play this game and the game can easily be had for less than retail.

If people want to complain about something, then let them complain about the aweful flight stick that came with the Limited edition.

I wouldn't have a problem with DLC if it came long after a game release. But having $10 worth of content on the marketplace/psn a week or two after release is concerning .

8 - DLC?
Yeah, i hate DLC completly, releasing a game, then releasing extra content for extra cars/planes/skins/etc etc...its getting really annoying...every week new songs for rockband and guitar hero 3..
Unfortunately, DLC is here to stay, game devs get this money completely rather than it being divided between manufacturers and distributers...they just put it on the network and there done...and the money rolls in...i would like to see it stop, but boycotting is just not gonna work...how can you convince a company..or someone...not to make money...released DLC, someone will download it no matter what cause there dumb enough to dl it

9 - DLC is one of the things
Holding people out from buying games like Forza 2.I love the game, but dammit, theres too few tracks.they've released 2 I think as DLC, but why couldnt they have just included it in the game? Having the same track with a many variations is 1 track.maybe not in Turn 10 land.also, they've been two sets of car downloads, cars that shouldve bn there from the start. Thats the thing,Forza 2 for me is an awesome simulation, but GT is going to blow it away in terms of content. More tracks.more cars.people would think im paying 60 bucks and im getting a game with 700 cars,bt ur paying the same and getting 300,and its the same genre,MSFT has to understand, the console war makes or breaks their future.they nd us in their good books,on their side.they should be giving us this stuff

10 - DLC done right...
Can be exciting and an added feature to a game but releasing a game only 70% complete then asking for more money to have the other 30% is just plain wrong. Vote with your wallets people and don't buy this crap.

Blowing this out of proportion much? It's a bunch of new aircraft textures, xbox live pictures, and themes, nothing that effects gameplay whatsoever.
