actually not really. UT3 will still have its fans. UT3 won't appeal to all shooter lovers but the frantic gameplay will appeal to some. IMO UT3 is a stand out shooter. At least stand out enough to separate itself from the rest of the herd

I get your point, and I agree somewhat but think the biggest audience for games like UT3 are on the PC.

Gears of War 2 isn't that far away either. Not the same type of game, but similar in many ways and also a big multiplayer title. The next multiplayer FPS title I'll be picking up is Battlefield: Bad Company.

Yea gears is a greater game. However UT3 was their bread and butter franchise. They can't just leave it behind for GOW2. GOW is a fantastic game with inovations in game play and graphics i hope they have some more gameplay innovations in 2 as well

I like Gears, because I like 3rdPS's and cover systems. Gears and GRAW is why I got an Xbox to start with. But innovative? In gameplay and graphics? C'mon. The only innovative thing was the reload mechanism.

Gears is like Linsy Lohan. Its pretty to look at and you can have a lots of fun with it but there's nothing special or particularly intelligent there.

I'm not picking on Gears, I did buy an unreliable console to play it. Here hoping G2 has abit more of those innovations to it.

UT3 has the whole cast of Gears its called All Cogs mod. It also has the 3rd person view mod called action cam. No cover system mod yet though.

UT3 has the best looking sci fi levels ever seen in a game IMO. Not to mention the best mapmakers have done some pretty maps too.
Gears has got the better single player Hands down though. UT3 single player is tacked on.

EA (amoungst others) run their own servers for Xbox 360 games. Xbox LIVE is as flexible as it needs to be.

You dont know when, how or why things happen in the back-end for Xbox 360 games, so dont pretend you do.

Actually, the Unreal franchise was never about sales. It was about mod support in the community, which Epic Games takes a close look at to see what kind of talents are out there. Plus it gives them new ideas for any upcoming projects.

However I would agree that UT3 sales could have been better anyway. What killed it was the whole unknown release date, plus no advertisements AT ALL, and being overshadowed by many other games in november.

I love how 360 fanboys act as if all games sell MILLIONS on their console. Wasn't Blue Dragon created by some of the masterminds behind FF games and it didn't even sell 500,000 copies. If I had the ignorant mentality that some people seem to, (obviously not implying you at all) I could say if it isn't a westernized game, it won't sell on the 360.

I could even support that by looking at all of the blockbuster titles in the XBOX library. What game has hit 4 million for MS that wasn't a shooter? Since you like VGchartz, GTA: San Andreas sold what, 2.22 million on XBOX and 15.4 million on PS2...I bet it would have sold more if it was a shooter. Is there _any_ attachment to reality here? 390,000 sales is _TERRIBLE_. Assuming $60 per sale, thats less than $25 Million.

After retailers, licenses, publishers, advertising -- how much of that do you think goes to support ongoing development?

If Epic doesnt bring this game to the core gamer market (Xbox 360), they're going to loose money on UT3.

Action cam (changes the games to 3rd person Gears like camers
)

Jetpack (you can fly)

Increaced gore

Freeze ray (weapon mod)

All over deathmatch (makes all maps accessable for deathmatch)

Unlimited ammo (comes in a mutator pack)

And of course the character mods.

There is a lot more at ut3mod.com. If you havent got any mods yet and you have this game I would suggest going there because it really changes the game experience.
