It's the fact that the SPU's can be specialized that makes the PS3 more powerful then the X360. X360 can do it all at an average rate. PS3 can do specialized tasks (physics, graphics, lighting, sound, etc.) all at the same time with exceptional performance when coded properly.

If it was ever going to outshine the 360 it would have already done so like the Xbox did with PS2.

As if PS3 is the only console that has a learning curve. When devs say 360 is easy to develope for the more seasoned ones say easy in comparison to PS3 and say the 360 is still hard to develope for. Devs are going back to school to learn multi thread/core development lol 360 isn't anymore mastered than the PS3.

Multi thread/core development is still not the norm(just now being taken serious). Alan Wake and Project Offset are some of a few titles that use much more of the 360's threads then lets say" the devs did for Geometry Wars.

MSFT just hired some Multi threading master/god about six months ago to help devs tapppppp the 360's power lol.

the way the RSX and the Cell can work in unision to produce outstanding graphics, AI, physics etc is ingenious

the Xenos and Xenon are more isolated like in standard PC architecture

Uncharted proves it, so does GT5, then Killzone 2 and FF13 will come along to wipe the sh!t off the eyes off denial boys

Is this where the fishheads all rally around this shaky comment and celebrate? LOL Give me a break! To the fishheads saying Uncharted is the best game on consoles STOP LYING! You are lying because you are desperate for just a little recognition and I guess the Blu-ray movie victory wasn't enough. Uncharted has some great animations it suffers from bad tearing and popin, not to mention the textures go to complete sh*t when you get close to them.

Because 80% of developers develop for XBOX 360 first. Then thi percentange will lower then that is a time to worry.

This hyped PS3 bubble will drop soon, as second wawe of XBOX 360 games will arrive. From what we see on PS3 so far graphicaly there is not better gams on PS3.

MGS4 - good games but 8/10 gfx
GT5p - good car models, but bad enviroments
Haze - crap GFX
Kilzone good setting, nut textures are bad
Resistanse - ? show me in game first
LittleBig planet - game for kids.No adult will play this more than 10 minutes.

so, there is no so bright colours for PS3 as you SONY supported wan them to be. Keep hyping.

The Xbox 360 has a great sense of flexibility, while the PS3 has raw strength. Let's not try to see them as rivals, more likely they are actually a team. Together, PS3 and 360 will push next gen into newer territories.

360's Xenos provides for the console world the glory of Unified Shader Architecture. Meaning that its pipelines can take in vertex, pixel, or geometry shaders. The PS3 has its RSX, a Standard Shader Array. Meaning than its pipelines have dedicated functions. This doesn't offer the "flexibility" that Xenos does, although it DOES offer RAW performance.

The idea is that maximum efficiency is preferable, since some pipelines that aren't being used in a Standard Array would be better utilized if they were able to redirect some of the workload off of already stressed pipelines, ala "Unified" Shaders. It's something that both major graphics chips manufacturers now fully support, and standard arrays are a thing of the past.

360 further carries that concept of a "unified" approach by using a fat stash of 512MB of main memory, as well as a 3core dual threaded PowerPC970 "general perpose" CPU (with VMX-128, MEMEXPORT). Each core clocks in at 3.2Ghz, giving devs a lot of processing power for the value that 360 stands to represent. They appreciate the level of flexibility afforded by 360's hardware, and have in turn produced some of this gens greatest games on it.

I understand that Sony's game was to look big and tough, through catch phrases hype and over exageration. But, truth be told, their system was an extremely expensive undertaking and probably an ugly pill that they didn't swallow too easy. To say that PS3 is superior and will invariably lead to better games is basically giving into that hype. I only believe it when it's true, and I can say that a great many PS3 games have proven NOT that PS3 is superior, but rather that PS3 is needed in this current generation of videogame ecosystem.

I say that it's needed because it provides an example that devs can use to "aim high" when creating their games. 360, on the other hand, provides the "aim smart" approach. That they can work within a more forgiving development environment, or an environment of exteme measures, and rigid boundaries. PS3 is nearly the opposite of the 360: carefully partitioned and neatly organized so as to be absulutely armed to the teeth to take on certain tasks. 360 provides the cloud for the dreams, gently marking off certain boundaries and skewing less in favor of raw power and more in favor of creative space.
