Personally, I never seen Microsoft pursue a action adventure game, so it will be interesting.

2) @Sayai jin, by the time of game release every 399$ costing PC will be able to run Alan Wake.
It`s already today`s 399$ costing PC can without problem run UT3, GeoW, CoD4 and even Crysis at medium.

@CrazzyMan- BTW, I usully only disagree if someone rights relly ridiculous, tunnel visioned response and even then, not always. Your response was level headed, hence I did not disagree with you. Anyways, I know even some current or future inexpensive PC's wil be able to run the game. The point is not everyone will have the money to buy one, especially if they have a PC for general purpose and brought a current console. My point remains the same. Not nyone that does not own the 360 will be able to get it for the PC.

True, it would be nice if the game comes out this year. I have heard from credible souces that it will be release Sep to Oct 08.

Alan Wake will outsell both those titles. Alan Wake is going to be the BioShock or Mass Effect of 2008, big story, in-depth story telling and ground-breaking in many ways.

KZ2 is going to be the most expensive failure in videogame history -- the Ishtar of videogames if you will.

And, LBP has much to prove, so far, it looks like a physics toy? LBP == much to prove, and not looking like its more than Halo 3's Foundry without the fun.

one would be skeptical of LBP selling tons. Mostly beacuse the game needs to be marketed to the masses in order for them to know what is going on. Sack boys aren't enough alone. They need to really push the create and share aspects of the game. This is obvious since you're trying to compare it to Halo's foundry which is 1/1000th the freedom that LBP gives you.

KZ2 has just as much of a chance to sell as Alan Wake does. Neither of the titles are proven. Not much is known about either one of them as far as features and gameplay. Although I believe we've seen more from KZ2 then Alan Wake. I know I'm not wrong when I say it wowed the industry last year. To claim failure before it's launched makes it seem like MS sent you a magic 8 ball.

As far as Alan Wake is concerned, I hope it comes out this year. I want to see how it turns out. I know I wouldn't mind getting a 360 sometime in the future and this title is one that interests me.

It's there own engine they have been developing since max paine 2 it uses multi core processors working in tandem with the gpu to render the graphics it has a draw distance of 2 kilometers this detailed and the game word is 26 square miles all on one DVD

those screens are beautyfull, though i suspect those are the PC screens because they dont specify which version. still i dont think the xbox 360 is too far from that i mean the level of AA on that was insane, theres just no way the 360 can have that level of AA it's to PC perfect. either way my interest has peeked again for this game, and i'll likey purchase it or rent it for my PC.

i agree, the vistas and landscapes looks good but when it showed the actual character and the enemies it is far from a AAA looking game at the current moment. that's why i'm really interested in seeing what the in-game footage will look like.

Dont compare what Alan Wake _will be_ in September with unreleased Demos that you are seeing for games due in 2009 (and beyond).

If Alan Wake looks as good as shown, it will set the new high-water-mark for console graphics.

I was going to just ask you to goto the Open Zone, but your delusions need addressing.

Gears of War 2 - by Epic. Gears of War 94 / 100 (at Metacritic). Gears won piles of Game of the Year Awards.

Fable 2 - by Peter Molyneux. Fable 85 / 100. Re-inventing RPG gameplaying. Fable 2 == RPG of the Year 2008.

Alan Wake - by Remedy, maker of Max Payne 89 / 100 and Max Payne 2 84 / 100. Good track-record, and we know they can pull it off, MP was great. Alan Wake == Action/Adventure of the Year 2008.

MGS4 - will probably be the best PS3 game ever. But, the gameplay in Frontlines Fuel of War, Counter Strike, Halo, Gears and the many multi-platform games, I'll be just fine not playing MGS4. Perhaps I'll play it at someone's house.

HAZE == snore.
Killzone 2 - by Guerilla Games, who's only other work is Killzone 70 / 100 (mediocre). The game has been pushed back multiple times, and the budget has ballooned to $60 Million -- what does this say? The most expensive train wreck of a videogame in history. This will be the last game Guerilla makes. Perhaps, after spending so much on the IP, Sony will take it to another Developer, but Killzone (imho) is going to be a massive failure and disappointment. Mark my words.

LittleBigPlanet == Halo 3 Foundry platformer.

Resistance 2 - by Insomniac, Resistence 86/100. Insomniac will almost certainly deliver a better game than Haze or KZ2. R1 is a good game but not ground breaking or the Top Tier like Gears or Halo.

GT5p, Motorstorm2 == Vanilla Racing games. Want innovation? See Forza and PGR. Forza 2 is the best racing game available. GT5 will be good, but it doenst look like its going to be very innovative.

After the things http://forzamotorsport.net/ pioneered, I'll never go back to the kind of non-LIVE racing games again. I cannot wait to see what Forza 3 brings.

Basically, PS3 is just starting to even remotely approach games of any quality, and the Xbox 360 continues to lead, and will maintain its lead in quality and innovation.

The PS3 is smoke and mirrors, more promises from Sony that they'll never deliver. 4D emotion engines and all that.. much marketing nonsense.

The Xbox 360 owner plays the best games, and he plays them *TODAY* and that will continue. I know it, you know it, the industry knows it and it makes you very very sad and jealous.

I agree with most of what you said about the 360 games. I really think they will rock. (Except for Alan Wake, which I dont know much). I mean I loved Fable and GeoW, on the PC and on a friends 360 (Never played Fable on the original xbox)... I am serious... those games rocked and I am sure the sequels will rock aswell.

A. LBP is 1000x more in depth then FOUNDRY. Jesus, do some research on the game before you try to claim crap like that.

B. I'll mark your words when KZ2 wows the entire industry again this year like they did the last.

C. RFOM was a launch title. They've expounded on every aspect that a complaint was made. The game will rock.

D. Motorstorm 2 is looking to fix a good portion of the complaints it has for the first version. Gameplay was never a complaint for this game. Just tracks and lack of split screen.

E. GT5P is without question better then PGR4 and Forza. That statement you made almost discredits your entire post. Well ... that and the LBP post.

F. You at least got MGS4 right.

I mean hell man. I know the games that are coming out for the 360 are gonna rock. Alan wake looks more then interesting. Gears will, of course, be awesome. Fable is another solid series that looks to be improving on the last. Why can't you just give credit where it due instead of spouting of random crap like "LBP is Halo's foundry"

I agreed with most of your points but Lbp is definately a lot more than halo 3 foundry which is brilliant. This game for me looks like a must own title this year i mean with its skys the limit attitude when it comes to creativity.

As far as those disagreeing with the gt5p/motor storm statement. Tell me what innovation or new ideas have these franchises brought to the racing scene except better graphics.

I know its hard to renovate a genre thats pretty cut and paste but pgr brought us weather effects,whole cities to use the track editor on ,online racing/tournaments and motorbikes vs cars. Forza has given deep custom paint jobs, unprecedented performance customisation and the realistic driving/damage physics model.

Gt was the first driving simulator but apart from graphics the game has not progressed since GT1. Hopefully Gt5 will bring the franchise into the modern day.

and i do agree with most of that! i don't really know anything about lbp so i can't comment. but boy are you gonna lose bubbles over that lol. you can't diss sony favourites like that in here! sony have forced polophony digital to release a gran tourismo demo(and microsoft get called desperate!!!), and it's true that apart from graphics, the franchise has'nt changed in 10 years. and even though i got bored with forza after a while, the gt games have bored me alot more. imo forza was a better game! all the little things that you can do with the cars is pretty amazing, and the little tweaks that actually affect performance. that's without on-line. and the sony fanboys have still got another year before they get the real deal! still in that year, it mite come with voice chat, and player games on-line!!!!!

and after killzone 1, i'm not really pumped for the second outing! apart from the fanboys lapping it up, this has got flop written all over it! i loke the "wowed the game industry comment" obviously your talking about the cgi vid shown at e3 in 2005! something that kz2 is'nt gonna remotely look like!! smell the coffee people.

08 for Xbox owners has grown to Gears of War 2, Halo Wars, Left 4 Dead, Ninja Gaiden 2, Fable 2, Splinter cell Conviction, Too Human, Huxley, GTA4 (EXCLUSIVE CONTENT) and Thesis (maybe) while yoour still stuck at 4 games. Whats even more sad is, I don't even think MS is done yet. You don't lay down an 11 punch super combo like that so early without throwing a few kicks while down. MS idea of concentrating on 07 in 07 and 08 in 08 has layed down a nice little beat down for the PS3. 08 went from the y"ear of the PS3" to being "The Year the PS3 got b!tch slapped" and we are only three months in.
