2K Not Working on Fix for MLB 2K8 Framerate Issues on PS3

2K sent over word to Loot Ninja that they're working on some patches for MLB 2K8 for a few issues. Mainly, the framerate issues are being fixed on the Xbox 360. But that's not the only console with stuttering issues. The PS3 version is about the same in terms of the slowdown in the field.

When asked about a patch to address these issues on the PS3, a representative for 2K had this to say:

"At this time, these are the only updates 2K Sports is working on for MLB 2K8 for these issues."

Because MLB 08 The Show doesn't have any of these problems and looks and plays 10x better. Shows how much they care about their competition.

Ouch, Mlb 08 The Show runs at 1080p, 60FPS, while this game looks wrose then MLB 08 The Show AND on top of that it has slow downs on both versions.

They're probably not making a patch for the PS3 because they think that PS3 owners have chosen MLB 08: The Show as their baseball game of choice (since it is better than 2k8) while the 360's only baseball game is MLB 2k8, and that's the baseball game that they have to play.

I sincerely recommend The Show to anybody with any interest in baseball or baseball video games. Gameplay is great and the players simulation is awesome.

I've never seen players with their own batting style done so real and convincing in a baseball game.. Then again I don't play a baseball game since 2004 I think, but I just feel like I'm playing the real thing everytime I play.

Anyways I'm hooked with it, of course until GTA4 releases, but still I'm determined to finish the season..

I'm 19-8 with yanks, in Veteran. I have Jeter first in batting average and hits, A-rod first in RBI's and I have a no-hitter with Phil hughes. Damn I'm good... haha

Anyone???

They did the same thing with their NHL game. Turning their back on PS3 gamers will come back and haunt them...I HAD been a 2K supporter with their NHL franchise but will definitely not buy their next product. I am sure many people will do the same. MLB the Show is by far the superior game of the two.

support and go where the money is. The PS3rd place is a bust with it's low install base and bad software attach rate. The only nextgen console without a modchip and it has the weakest software sales of them all. CRAPSTATION (tm) owners are too busy watching movies and talking up their console on message forums instead of buying and playing games. It happened with the PS2 vs Xbox and now it's happening for the 360 vs PS3, install base and software attach rate is what brings developers to a console not a fancy movie player and Second Life ripoff.

Speaking of MLB The Show that buggy mess could use a patch too because that game is broken.

As with the problems with rainbow six vegas...those problems being worst on the ps3 then xbox...why bother...why in the hell would anyone with a brain purchase a ps3 right now for gaming is beyond any comprehension. Why does the PS3 always have framerate issues and washed out color issues? Oh...thats right, because it was hyped up more than what it can realy do in "reality" which is "still" behind the 360.
