It seems like Gears of War 2 is the only one that has a chance of coming out this year. Forza 2 is possible but why come out when the new one is came out last year. Team Ninja is working on NG2 and Halo Chronicles coming so soon after Halo Wars and Halo 3 doesn't make sense.

The only game i see on the list that can reach 1 million really quick is Gears of War 2..I never liked DOA4 it was a big disappointment to me..And I have Halo 3 why would i bother with any other game with that title.

What I said is postive for the Xbox 360 and "NOTHING" negative about any other platform. Oh, and saying Bye Bye isn't negative, it's just saying bye:)

Sure there's a better change that any new MG series will stay on the sony platforms, however this is about rumors isn't it.

Here guys for whoever believes tht gow2 is goin to be out this year is an idiot, it may not even be out next year. the developer himself in a recent interview stated that they have bearly begun talkin about a seqeul let alone creating one. as for the other games halo, well i bought Halo 3 with a lot of expectations and to be fair i was disappointed, i no most peeps love it but personally it was a let down as the graphics were cartoony and the game ended just like that.
As 4 MGS series comin to xbox whoever wrote that a pure idiot y wud sony let go the only game that can make the ps3 have a hope of surviving. as for the other two i cudn care less, not that big of games, and no developer is goin to release a game that was only released months ago AKA Forza and Halo.

Well there was already a Halo book(Fall of reach) and it was pretty good. It basically tells you how the Master Chief became the Master Chief.

I just don't see Gears 2, Forza 3, or a non-compilation/dlc halo coming this year. It has only been a little over a year since gears came out and they just came out with the pc version so I doubt we'll see gears 2 this year. if so, it would just be more like an expansion of the game then a true sequel. Same with Forza. I know it's just a driving game, but they won't release a sequel so soon after 2. It wouldn't be smart. With halo chronicles, I see, at most, a halo 1-3 compilation with maybe extra missions, or a line of DLC for Halo 3. The fact that it's saying Chronicles could mean a line of DLC about Cheif's and Cortana's way back home. I could see a new DOA but DOA sux anyways. Fighting game wise, it's not that great and it's a button masher. Plus, I lost interest once a DOA head said that Tekken won't ever be as good as it. If he has to directly dogg his better competitor with BS slander then I don't respect him or his game. But it came out with the 360 so I could see it coming with a new one near the end of 08. But it would be to soon for the others. I just don't want to see half-@$$ed sequels that got rushed for money.

This article is speculation -- but pretty reasonable assumptions.

Forza 3 is a sure great title, FM2 has 90/100 from metacritic, FM was 92/100. Great track record (pun intended :). Forza 2's Net functionality and user-generated content was really innovative.

The Driving game has a lot of opportunity with user-generated content and LIVE features. I'm sure the Forza team will do something great for FM3. That said, im not really worried about the graphics, the visuals are already great, I'd be more interested in more car-physics simulation (say, hop-ups and user-designed engineering in the car that affects the physics?)

Halo Chronicles (IMHO), or The Peter Jackson Halo Project will be Episodic Content or some kind of DLC. Maybe built on the Halo 3 engine; maybe not a whole new game, but new stories, scenarios and gameplay. I dont see them releasing a whole new engine/game so soon after Halo Wars and so close to Halo 3.

Gears of War 2 this is going to be one of the biggest games of 2008 if they relase it this year. No doubt. Gears 1 was a break out hit, a fantastic game and univerally loved, by gamers and critics alike. The Awards and Sales numbers tell us that GeoW 2 has a lot to live up to. But, epic has the skills for another home-run, Im not worried about GeoW2 at all, whenever it comes, half of Xbox 360 owners will by a copy. If it is released in 2008, I'd expect it to be one of the biggest sellers of the year, and a sure-fire GotY candidate.

As for DoA, thats a little more spotty. The Series has some highs and lows, a spotty record. Im not really a Fighter game player, so I dont have much personal experience.

But what I hope is that DoA gets some new, genre expanding features. If 2007 (2006?) was the year that gaming realized LIVE gameplay was a great way to expand traditional genres, I hope 2008 (2009?) become the User Generated Content. With DoA, there isnt much that can be done for user content - but Online fighter games (and perhaps models or textures) dont really have much UGC opportunity? Not that I can invent. I hope if they do releaes a DoA this year, its more than a pretty fighter.

All that said, its a great time to be a gamer. LBP looks like its going to put UGC on the map. Im confident that MS will have no problem enabling the creativity of 3rd parties in the same way.

As a company, they have always been about enabling others. XNA is a step in that direction... Forza 2, Halo 3 already have UGC, but there is so much more that can be done, and LBP's "level design for a platformer" has been done before, but on the console, a game that concentrates so centrally is new.

Rare is working on Banjoo Twooie. We havent seen much for 2 years, and they havent released anything since Viva (Viva Pinata Party Animals was done by Krome Studios).

I'd be surprised to see an announcment at GDC, but Rare has been flying under the radar on that one... expect some more Bajoo Twooie info sometime this year, if not the game.

Thats only because of Japan. If the 360 was selling about the same als the PS3, 360 would have trumped the PS3 all year and in 2008 as well. Its just to bad that the Japanese people are to ignorant to buy 360's, just because its American. Still, Microsoft is doing very well with the 360, compared to the original Xbox.

in fact they know well. Japanese care not only about games but about hardware too, thats why all the great electronic reliable high-end quality gizmos comes from there. If a hardware doesnt meet a BASIC control quality like having less than 2 or 3% of failures rates, then is discarded in their minds. If u dont own a 360 and u like the GT series how can u sit there and talk about Forza2? It is as, of now, superior to GTs last game, it has online races, tournaments an online auction. It has a "design ur own paint job" option, which at first is hard to get to grips with, but after a while is so manipulative
u can make faces of famous people on your car with a few thousand layers, or jus about anything u want to design. Oh and hold up, it has full DAMAGE, which comes in handy for online so u can weed out the idiots from the room and have a real race where u have to BRAKE and give way to some1 who has the racing line not just bash into them for the position!

Saying that i do hope for improved visuals and an internal view, why they put in PGR3 and not in Forza2 is beyond me, but there u go. I like my racing games and i am looking forward to GT5 but the series so far IMO has lost some of its realism to Forza.

Im just saying, 3 of my friends bought a 360 ( 2 of the the 360s have broken and have serious issues btw) mainly for gears of war so, therefore, they wont buy another 360 for gears of war 2.

As for the mgs/ff comment: have you heard of a price drop ? many people are waiting for one. mgs4 is still roughly 3/4 months away and ff isnt even this year. I agree, mgs gameplay is only to some peoples taste but its presence amongst other AAA titles for the ps3 will sell consoles. It doesnt all rely on one game, [#gears 2#], it relies on many

GT even GT4HD have no damage models. Running into a wall with 200 km an hour and driving on without a scratch or just smashing into your component and taking the lead that way is making GT an arcade racing game, no sim. Thus: Forza 2 is on top in that part for sure

Multiple reviewers have stated that all the options that Forza 2 has are miles and miles ahead of the GT series. Even the dev of GT has said that the Forza series won't be touched in their features even by GT5.

Mart, the fact that GT has gotten this far and still gotten away with having no car damage, is simply a testiment to how fantastic the game actually is.

Forza 2 is great, but calling it better than Gran Turismo is pure ignorance, or just denial.

Besides, car damage doesn't make or break a game, unless you're so bad that you constantly crash into the wall all the time. I'm usually pretty good on those sort of games, so I never even notice the lack of car damage, thus the experience still remains fantastic.

If it really means that much to you, though, at least the devs have said it will be in Gran Turismo 5. I don't think it will make the game all that much better, though.

Also, the things you said about MGS only make me think you either haven't played the game before, or wouldn't know a good game if i smacked you in the face with one.

Another thing, if more people buy a product, that doesn't necessarily make the product better.
Going by your logic, the fact that the PS3 has sold at a faster rate than the 360 at the same time in it's life would make it the better console. Is that what you're saying?

The Original Gears of War Destroys The original Resistance in every way shape and form..... What makes you think the sequels will be any different? Gears was an instant hit and high seller and is still one of the best shooters on the market..... Resistance is a barely slightly above average shooter that's only praised like it is because Ps3 had no other games when it came out. As for Killzone 2.... everyone seems to be thinking it's going to be amazing and one of the greatest FPS games this Gen..... just like KZ1 was supposed to be and if you remember how that turned out KZ1 was absolutely terrible, That pretty much leaves the Ps3 Line-up w/ MGS4 and GT5, I won't argue against the GT series it's a great series and will probly be one of the highest selling games in 08 but MGS4 is massively Over-rated no MGS game ever has moved consoles really they sell decently but they aren't as huge as people keep making it out to be, GT5 and FFXIII will move WAY more systems then any MGS game.
