Saw Announced

Scheduled for a release in October of 2009, the game will weave in and out of the Saw movie plotlines and will be an intricate collaboration between the development studio and the filmmakers. While this is really all the information IGN have on the title at the moment, they note that the game will be running on the Unreal III engine and will likely be released on PS3 and 360.

If this is anything near as bad as the latest film I'm avoiding it like the plague,

Possibly by some miniscule chance (0.000000001) this game may actually be worth playing.

Then again thinking about it, anyone else reckon the BBFC will have a field day with this

I'm excited for this game just as I am for the LOST game. There is gameplay mechanics in SAW movies to make it relevant for a game to be made. SAW 1 movie was like a game to me. Without spoiling it was about 2 guys stuck in a room working together trying find there way out while the jigsaw killer plays tricks. If that's not a game then what is? Now granted it is a licensed product but it should be a good rental.

Doubt it especially if the make the game like Saw 1 the movie. There was hardly any gore and not that much violence and wasn't scary at all. It was intense but that's okay in a game, right?

Jack Thompson wouldn't care, he'd still go after it.

This game looks like it will be the new Manhunt 2 (A lot of hype and controversy, leading up to a lousy game, making people wonder, "why were we talking about this?")

It will probably be censored much like Manhunt 2 and they should have released the game when the public's interest in the movies were peaking (maybe right before Saw II or III). The movies are done and they are releasing this game too late.

9.2 - It doesnt matter...
The series is past it's prime and the last 2 won't be as popular...you can only do so many sequels until people get tired of movie companies trying to milk the cow...i suppose spiderman and star wars would be the exceptions...but saw doesnt have the broad appeal and def. not of high interest to gamers...it could be an interesting game but when was the last time you played a great movie game? I'm personally looking forward to the Ghostbusters game later this year but I'm not getting my hopes up...

Hopefully the objective will be to figure out ways to kill people, or making them kill themselves..

The other way around wouldnt be fun at all. I mean... I dont think it would work in a game.

Either way... I'll probably not be getting it, maybe just rent, meh.

I am also a HUGE Saw fan and I am optimistic they could do a good job if they know what they are doing, like making it a "adventure game or Survival horror" (with heavy puzzle solving) and not a FPS, RTS or...racing game >.>
