Rockstar: GTA IV is "virtually complete"

Rockstar Games has said that development on the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto IV is "virtually complete", adding more fuel to suggestions that the upcoming crime romp will hit shelves on April 25, 2008.

News comes following an extensive preview by website CVG, where a representative for the company stated, "The game is in a very, very different place now," adding, "It's improved in virtually every single way imaginable.

6 - What they mean with that

Is that they're trying to make sure that it doesn't break Xflops. I heard they're also going to use a new layer of coding so the Xflop 180 can't scratch it. Either ways, Im still confident the 360 will a) scratch it and b) get RROD from it. They're also working closely with Microsoft to make sure the online component doesn't break down, but Im certain that it will. And lastly, they're trying to fit it on a measly 8.5gb DVD.

The PS3 version is complete on a 25gb Bluray disc, and the online component is perfect thanks for the PLAYSTATION NETWORK.

Good thing about not being a blind sheep follower of one platform is I can enjoy the extra DLC goodness that the 360 offers.

While I agree w/ your comment on blind fanboyism I can't help but notice the hipocricy.

If you know about this you must also know that 1 'episode' will be available late 2008 and the 2nd one available sometime in 2009. You don't even know what's included w/ that either. How many more missions are you gaining? How about other weapons? I haven't read a single article specifying what this 'episodic content' even is. Also, you'll be paying for this content. I would expect hope it's only $4.99 an episode, but wouldn't be surprised at a $9.99 tag. So if you want both episode expect to pay an extra $10-20.

I have all three consoles. The DLC is what made me get the 360 version. I am not a 360 fanboy at all. I never understood the rabid fanboyism going on for one platform or another. I'm a fanboy of great games. Primarily GTA sandbox type games.

About there not being much information about the DLC... There isn't that much information available about the actual retail game yet but everyone is still excited about it. It doesn't matter what is in the DLC I want it. The PS3 fanboys above were making up reasons the 360 version is crap to make themselves feel better that they won't get the DLC. I don't see any hypocrisy in my statement.

If your 360 is repair prone maybe you're willing to sacrifice the DLC but for me its no question. I want the full GTA experience.

You don't want to wait so you'll just ignore that it exists? If you only have a PS3 then I guess thats the only option to be defensive about it and say that it doesn't matter. Yes the retail game will be fun but having the DLC on top will be even more fun. No other way to look at it. Its like 360 fanboys saying they don't care about FFXIII or MGS4. If it makes you feel better...
