Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is Coming to Xbox 360 and PS3 from Capcom

From the PlanetXbox360 feature rumor-buster article:

"Over the past couple days gaming publisher Capcom Entertainment have been holding it's annual Captivate press event over in Hawaii (don't ask me why it must be so extravagant) and we have all the juicy details on exactly what was unveiled. Everything that came out of the event was not mind-blowing or even surprising at all; the attendees got to go hands-on with near final builds of Lost Planet 2 and Dead Rising 2 - something we expect to see much more of over the next few months (especially at E3 2010). All-along we knew there would be at least one, maybe two major announcements coming out of the event, and lucky for you we have been in contact with a few super-secret sources (names withheld for privacy issues) and put some other information together just based on who was traveling where and other industry tidbits. First let me remind you that this source of mine has been right 19/20 of the last tips he gave me, not minor tips but major game-changing information. Without further ado let me reveal to you exactly what Xbox 360-related video games were being shown at Captivate 10 in Hawaii (seems a bit of a glamorous location to show off a couple games, hmmm)"

As a girl I can only hope that this is true, have been waiting a long time for this game, a perfect mix of video game fighting and comic book goodness!

I hope its balanced a lot better than 2 was. When I play 1 I look at it as perfection, I play 2 its like they threw together a lot of characters just to say they have a giant roster, yes there's some fun moments however I still like 1 > 2.

And before people start hitting disagree I have both 1 and 2.

is CAPCOM vs SNK 3. i though marvel vs capcom 2 was fun, but it was too fast paced and also a little uneven. CAPCOM vs SNK 2 is to me 1 of the best 2d fighting game ever made.

Every Marvel vs. Capcom Character, Together At Last

Artist Chris Cayco, who we’ve featured a few times before on Kotaku, grew up playing Marvel vs. Capcom (and Marvel vs. Street Fighter) games. His tribute to this, which took him over 175 hours, was to combine every single character to ever appear in Capcom’s crossover series in the one enormous image.

So much wasted potential

Every Capcom Vs. Game Ranked

As common as it is today, it is hard to believe that there was a time where gaming franchises crossing over was just a pipe dream. Capcom broke down the wall, but they took the combination of some of the most unlikely of franchises and made it the norm.

Whether it was a colossal successful partnership with Marvel Comics or a collaboration with rivals Namco and SNK, the “Vs.” series brought unforgettable experiences to the fighting genre.

The 90s was a time when videogame IP established themselves heavily to the point where a lot of major companies could start doing crossovers
