Castlevania is set to debut this year and the game is looking incredible. Dave Cox is a great producer for Konami but it appears that there's a sign of doubt within the Lord Of Shadow release this year, not being able to fully compete with Uncharted 2's greatness may pose a threat to the expected success of Castlevania.

I do not particularly like HHG videos. I am an early eighty's rock kind of guy myself. I do however feel everyone bashes him quite a bit more then he deserves. It's not really the fact that Dave Cox beleilves that Uncharted 2 and Castlevania have to compete against it's other, it's more about what he said about Uncharted not redefining the third person action genre because it is on a single console.

He uses Mario and Halo as examples of exclusives that have a huge fan base and did more for their genre even though those games were mostly exclusive to one console.

Pretty much he says that Dave Cox is trying to protect his investment by bringing the GOTY from last year to stir up controversy.

I've noticed that HHG flip flops sides whenever a "blockbuster" game is about to be released (i.e. Splinter Cell: Conviction). Before this? God of War III - go look at all the pro PS3 shows he did followed by a brief encounter with FF13 and before that Uncharted 2.

This one is a bit lost, he said he got it from the dev and yet the dev states Multipl platforms rather then a specific platform, that is where HHG messed up on. Maybe it's not such a great idea to judge completely by a title, then? Don't judge a book by it's cover, right? Fanboys routinely go into angry rages here when it's obvious they just saw a misleading title and emotionally reacted without investigating the source material. If HHG bothers you that much, why view it or even comment on it? A similar thing happened with the Ninja Theory thread when the guy who posted it used a misleading title that made it look like Tameem Antoniades was attacking the PS3 when in context it was clear he was talking about the tech of current HD consoles and only mentioned the PS3 because it was getting a 3D firmware update. I'm just curious because I keep trying to watch one of his 'vidicles' and watch it from start to finish and I end up opening another tab to look at something else or play Solitaire or whatever while he carries on in the background.

I have started many of his 'vidicles' and have yet to get to the end. I think he could make a decent show, but he doesn't really do any editing, it's just him giving his long (painfully long) opinion in 'vidicle' form for what seems like an eternity.

I'd prefer him to make his show text based, at least we could see how well his journalism would hold up then.

Basically developer for Castle made a statement for "buzz" around his game because of the large amount of Heavy Hitters coming this year. As HHG said the developer made a large investment into the new IP for this generation. Also with new IPs its either your break even or you making profit. PLus its a risk to get it out there, great example is HR. Yea so he's raisin buzz around his game so people will be more into the new castle and not comepletly forget about it or just pass it off when the heavy hitters start pourin in. Plus he states that its not redifinng the action genre because its only on the PS3. HHG then comes back with what about Mario? Never was on any other companies system. He also used Halo, which redifined FPS on the xbox. HHG also goes on to state what exactly is a game that redifines a genre. Plus that they are more likely to be exclusive on a system rather than be mulitplate, since you can focus soley on that system alone. Now the developer for castle made this statement, and his game will be on every system (not sure exatly which ones but w/e), however from what was seen in their own trailer was nothing stellar. Nothing that was brand new except the game itself. HHG mentioned that it borrowed some aspect from GOW and DInferno, which isnt bad because many developers do that and make it their own thing, however what they did was not enough to redifine anything. Which means why should you shoot your mouth off at someone elses product that has redifined a genres, where as your game (castle) hasn't proven anything yet. However all hope isnt lost as Castle is still in development and there is still room for them to create something great and unique. No one is saying the developer is a total jackass, but rather that his statement was more bs than anything. Really it was more talk than action itself. HHG did also mention that from what he had seen with the castle trailer, that it looked really awesome for doing its own thing (plus he said hed buy it too).

I think MS is up to something and I think thaey know what everyone is thinking about the x360 and maybe they have a little suprise for us...I think people don't pay attention to things that are happening right in thier faces. Microsoft IS a software company, and through both hardware...i.e.(hdmi,ending rrod through new chipsets) and through software the NXE has continually updated and upgraded the x360. Thier latest upgrade however small has GREAT potential. By adding the flash drive capability to the x360 and then making recomendations not to use external hdd as they are slower and making sure you used at least 1gb all the way up to 16gb they open the window to developers to do something very interesting.

Ask yourselves why didn't MS just increse the size of thier memory card instead of going this route what advantages are thier to it?

1. Developers with the use of 1 dvd pluse a 16gb flash drive have up to 25gb worth of data capacity the same amount as a single layer blu ray disc.... what 97% of all ps3 games reside on.

4, It can add more security...everybody knows that hackers long ago figured out how to mod and play copied games on the x360 ... but what if the new AAA title all had a packed in flash drive or 2 with additional secutity measures developers are always weary of losing money to pirate's and a mid- generation securuty boost is a huge carrot to hang in front of a pirate weary developer.

Lets be honest many of the graphical things that have been accomplished on ps3 have nothing to do with its processing power and every thing to do with the fact that the x360 uses dvd, and not every one of them has a hdd so zipping and uncompressing from the hdd isn't an option... so packing in a flash drive with a AAA game already pre-loaded with game data allows for uncompressed textures, multiple languges, more fmv, larger enviorments, more detail, along with all the other stuff I already mentioned Basically packing in a flash drive or 2 minumises and even negates the ps3's blu-ray and standard hdd advantage while adding a few advatages of it's own. And before and of you start talking about the cost of a flash drive remember that blu-ray disc's are still extreamly expensive, and even more so for the dual layer 50gb ones.

It would have used all the same assest from Drakes Fortune, But you would play as Sully, investigating a lost Sicillian town, where you walk around picking up old parchments that poorly convey an uninteresting story that you dont actually get to be a part of. The game would take about 2 hours to complete.

lol even if they toned down the graphics to 576p on x360 for uncharted 2 it could not handle the physics or AI engine, and it would RROD whilst trying to deal with all the information, when will bots learn, it not just the graphics, it's also the amount of physics an AI used in this game, which is why it cannot be done on x360, the closest you will get is AW which is not even as good as Uncharted 1.

Well I see you didn't actually look up the cost of a blu ray disc and what does the cost at best buy have to do with what what a developer or publisher is gonna pay for a flash drive in bulk anyway. I think you missed my point in that it would be a pack-in in the case with a game disc, and it doesn't have to be a 16gb flash drive it could be a 1,2,4,8,or 16 I was simply speaking of the limits of what they currenty allow.
