Either way new stock or warrenty or both only an idiot would try and spin Microsofts new offer into bad news, everybody already knew the 360 had issues the thing they didn't know before is the 360 now has the best warrenty in console history(no matter the cause of the red rings of death heat or otherwise, I'm sure the read disc errors in that small batch of sh*tty drives will be phased out soon).

i agree with POG, and when i sit down to play games i dont feel scared to play incase i get the RROD, i dont think about sales numbers or anything except playing games
im happy with MY personal experience with the console, ive had no issues and the extended warrenty is great because mine just ran out
if i ever have an issue ill get it fixed end of story,had to do that several times with my ps2 over the years, i got a refurbished ps2 slimline and was pissed!
i will get a ps3 when the price comes down, im not a fanboy, how could i be when ive had nearly every console made, my favourite was the dreamcast, yes it died a painfull death but it was the best console in those days, look at ps2 ports of dreamcast games, they sucked! but the ps2 got me through all those years of gameing so how could i hate that?
i know there are fanboys out there that see microsofts problems as great news for the ps3 and love spinning it to be as bad as possible, i dont understand that mentality though, i dont have a ps3 but i wouldnt want to see sony have issues like this and im glad they have reliable hardware
rather then hateing other consoles why cant people just see them for what they are? somthing to play games on, a true games would be able to see the good in each console, and not just the negative

i am worried 3yr warranty isnt enough. a couple of my friends god 360's and then returned them to the store in exchange for a new onejust incase they bricked before thee end of their year. but theirs did brick early on in them owning them so they decided to be safe and exchange them before their year warranty was over.

Well after having 3 consoles myself..The warranty does nothing to fix the problem. People are waiting over a month to get consoles repaired. And after they do finaly get a replaced console they dont last. So MS has really mislead people with that warranty. Thats like saying "we know are console's suck, but we give you 3 years of not paying for your headachs"...not to mention the warranty only cover the 3 ROL..and nothing else..

My launch unit broke 2 months ago. Sent it in and got a new one back the next week. Did you just join today so you could go on an anti 360 rampage. Also, I would rather wait 1 week for a new unit then 1 year for my 2nd or 3rd decent game. One more thing-we'll see how well the PS3 does when people are actully able to play games consistantly.

that MS is also investing a part of that Billion dollars is upgrading 360's so that the RRoD don't happen in the future. It isn't just about repairing machines, it is about making them work right out of the box. Maybe that's why the sales numbers have skyrocketed.

what most don't realize is that it would be incredibly cheaper to just fix the problem now with a bigger heatsink, ventilation, or whatever. Instead of paying for overnight shipping 4 ways for a 10lb item, also the workers in the factories or whatever...etc.

I'm just mad it's taking them this long to pin down the problem and fix it. Changing components isn't that expensive in reality, as long as it doesn't change the programing.

I love anytime something goes wrong with a sony product ever xbox fanboy jumps all over it screaming about how the PS3 is dead. Yet when PS fanboys jump on some problem with the 360 all any XBOX fan can do is scream quit it fan boy.

Of course at the same time it works the same with sony fans. My question is does anyone ever actually get convinced of your argument when all you can do is scream fan boy?

I own all three of the new systems. Each has it's place but personally I use my PS3 more than the others because of the kick ass backwards compatablility with all of my ps2 games. Now that I have let that cat out of the bag I am extremely disappointed with sony's loss of all the exclusive games this generation. But I mainly am just waiting on my ff13 and versus13.

I haven't had any problems with my 360 pro but the fact that the rrod are a major issue. So major infact that MS has put an extra 2 3/4 years onto thier warranty disturbs me I think that It's great that they are trying to make up for thier mistakes don't get me wrong, but at the same time the fact that they sold me a $400 piece of hardware that currently has and extremely high rate of crashes is troubling. I know that currently Xbox has a great line up of games but until just recently I haven't really played any of them because my launch consols warranty had already run out and I didn't want to buy another, so for the most part it has been sitting on a shelf gathering dust getting cleaned off for the occasional session of Halo 2.

So to all of you PS Fanboys and the Xbots out there, quit all the petty arguing. Both systems are great. Hell I even enjoy my wii even if the graphics look like something from the days of the N64.

LOL. sad but true. Lack of games and price are the only thing stopping me most other potential ps3 buyers from buying one. Well that plus my wife thinks it cost too much. In any event I like the extended warranty for MS and I think it's a good show of faith by Microsoft. Any news that benefits gamers is good news regardless of Fanboyism.
