The differences in visuals and the performance is staggering compared to the first. They literally improved this game in every way possible, except for the dodgy character running animation/physics.

I was pissed when i saw the normandy die i wanted to cry liek taking the enterprise from captain kirk its just not right. I know it sounds lame but ME is a top 5 this gen for me

BioWare really outdid themselves with Mass Effect 2.

I can't even imagine how awesome the 3rd game will be (especially if it is on a next-gen console).

Well my comparison isn't really fair since I played ME1 on 360 and ME2 now on PC but personally I think the graphics are not good enough for a modern RPG of this nature.

Then again, maybe the better performance of my PC on other games just shows up the graphical faults more easily.

But those textures - I just just can't take my eyes off them they're so ugly... I thought I had a some bugs until I compared to some screenies yesterday :/

I don't know, maybe I've played too much other stuff now and 360 games are showing their age too much to be pleasant - I find it difficult to enjoy the Wii for the same reason. But if you're used to it I guess they may seem like good visuals, and for the 360 I suppose they are good visuals.

Anyway, most of today has been MAG day - may be after a break from ME2 for a few days it'll seem better lol.

So what are you comparing it to? In many ways I think it looks better than Uncharted 2....so how much better do you expect it to be?

Why dose it look the same? I seriously can't see any improvements. Oh and Darthv72 the difference between UC1 and UC2 is very noticeable even in screen-shots whereas in this comparison it's a pain in the ass trying to spot the difference between both versions.

In be honest I think the 360's maxed out.

If you play it you'll notice the difference. The lighting is MUCH better in Mass Effect 2 even the screen show this. They did more work with character models making them look more believable. Cut tons of loading times down, and tweaked the game way beyond what they did with the first.

But that being said I love, everything about Mass Effect except the game play. It's just not my cup of tea, and I can't play through it because of that. I love the powers you have, but I don't like going through the menus to use them or my teammates powers, or how Shepard doesn't easily go into cover still. The shooting mechanics need work still. Mass Effect excels in every area, but game play to me, and believe me I tried and tried to get past it just so I can enjoy the world and story, but I can't. Mass Effect needs the help of Epic (or Naughty Dog, but seeing how that's Sony it's not going to happen since it's still an Xbox 360 exclusive at least for now) to get the shooter controls right, because now they're just mediocre.

dude the game looks better in every way from the texture to the lighting, and the frame rate has all been improved. So the differences are night and day. Sure it may not be the huge jump Uncharted to Uncharted 2 was but the difference is big enough to see the hard work bioware put into this game.

i have both me2(on the 360) and uc2 and me2 does not hold a candle to uc2 graphically. they are different games of course but to say me2 surpasses uc2 in some ways, me2 only passes uc2 in the fact that me2 is a wrpg and uc2 is a third person shooter.
