Famitsu 360: Japanese developer making a lot of Xbox 360 titles

Munetatsu Matsui, editor in chief at Famitsu Xbox 360, has updated his Twitter status with very interesting tweet yesterday. Apparently, he met with a Japanese game developer who've yet to release an Xbox 360 game, but will be making them this year and will have a lot to publish.

Who can it be?

There's 2 MMO already confirmed.

The new N3:2 Dev's new MMO and Monster Hunter Frontier. My guess is the new Mistwalker game and Ippo Using Natal and so on.

baum5210d ago

What a waste of time, lol

Blaze9295210d ago

Well either it's a bunch of Xbox LIVE Arcade titles maybe or a mixture but depending on what "a lot" means I doubt they can all be full fledged games when they are making them all this year.

Microsoft really seems to be on some kind of Japan operation in full force.

gaffyh5210d ago

Multiple titles = not good titles. I just want 1 game for 360 from Japan, Lost Odyssey 2, couldn't really give a crap about any other stuff e.g. Magna carta, N3 etc. They're all sub-par imo.

Immortal Kaim5210d ago

Seriously some of you guys like to whinge just for the sake of it. If MS completely pulled out of Japan you would be saying they abandoned their fan base (albeit small), if they try to carry on with 360 support in Japan, they are stupid for trying. Which one is it?

Anyway, I just want another game from Mistwalker, Lost Odyssey was amazing. LO2 would be a dream come true for me.

evrfighter5210d ago

the bitterness here is hilarious

A Cupcake for Gabe5210d ago

I really wonder how much money MS has to blow. The 360 is suffering so far in the back in JP. The really should just pull out and use resources in America....Euro....etc.

JP is Sony/Nintendo territory. MS should focus on keeping the lead in America.

Rush5210d ago

Yeah I will let the fanboys spout there nonsense its just insecurity anyways. Am done trying to correct them there to narrow minded its a complete waste of time and energy.

I agree with you Lost Odyssey 2, a new Blue Dragon game or even a new IP as long as its a JRPG made by the masters. In fact almost every game that comes out of Japan I generally like. I guess its something to do with the way the develop there games. The American developers just don't have that certain something for me.

sack_boi5210d ago (Edited 5210d ago )

I posted the exact same comment yesterday on an article regarding MAG's review score and it got "deleted".
Meanwhile, comments like these "What a waste of time", "I don't want to know", etc, don't get deleted.

The mods on this site are pretty weird.

baum5210d ago

"I don't want to know" or "Waste of time" are not really directed towards anyone in particular. However, you were probably aiming that "bitterness" comment at someone or a group of people. Should I even be surprised that you needed an explanation?

Oh, and dude... please, change your username. Save us some time in guessing who you are alligned with ;)

ABizzel15210d ago

People get it wrong. MS is not dumb, they're trying to run a business, and from that perspective MS is doing everything they can to get more sells, and stop the competition from leaving them which is what they are suppose to do as a business. Would you let your business just dwindle, because you're having a hard time with a certain group of people. No.

If you want to be mad or say someone's stupid then blame the companies. They'll accepting money from MS in order to keep their games exclusive when JRPG's struggle on the 360 especially in Japan where they should be selling the most. Capcom's Monster Hunter online was a dumb move for Capcom, all the Square RPG's was a dumb move by Square, none of this was stupid of MS.

kaveti66165210d ago

It is astonishing how you have as many bubbles as you do.

You're not an unbiased person..

You're not exactly an articulate writer.

You hardly every have anything interesting to say.

How do you do it? What is your secret? I mean, even Saaking doesn't have a lot of bubbles, anymore.

sikbeta5210d ago

"Yeah I will let the fanboys spout there nonsense its just insecurity anyways. Am done trying to correct them there to narrow minded its a complete waste of time and energy."

Cuz you OWN the Truth, right?

As Usual, this is something that Really Define the MS Fan-Crew, they only see what they want to see, they always complain about others but never look at them in the mirror, they always want to impose their vision of something as a Fact, GOD, Delusion is NOT a Bless...

Anyway, I want to know if this games are coming from Mistwalker and What kind of Deal Mistawalker have with MS

lowcarb5210d ago

"As Usual, this is something that Really Define the MS Fan-Crew, they only see what they want to see, they always complain about others but never look at them in the mirror"

Maybe because they don't care about the opinions of PS3 fanboys. There seems to be bad case of jealousy this gen from the PS3 camp which is just sad. Go enjoy your PS3's and gtfo already.

cayal5210d ago

"There seems to be bad case of jealousy this gen from the PS3 camp which is just sad"

Works both ways.

Rush5210d ago

Yeah and you spouting even more nonsense helps your cause.

"As Usual, this is something that Really Define the MS Fan-Crew, they only see what they want to see, they always complain about others but never look at them in the mirror, they always want to impose their vision of something as a Fact, GOD, Delusion is NOT a Bless..."

Clearly your in the wrong zone because am in the gamer zone and I appreciate games regardless of platform. I own a PS3 and 360 and I would own a Wii if any games really interested me for that console.

I have no loyalty to an electronics or software company unlike half you idiots in the wrong channel. If Microsoft gets a new kick ass exclusive I will buy it if its my type of game. If Sony gets a new awesome exclusive I will buy that.

As a fan of GAMES I love JRPG's so anything coming out of Japan is very exciting for me.

The Reason I own a 360 is because I loved, Eternal Sonata, SO4, Enchanted Arms, Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey.

The Reason I own a PS3 is because I love, Final Fantasy, Valkyria Chronicles, Demon's Souls, Disgaea 3.

Seriously creeps like yourself shouldn't even be in this zone, but of course even the mods on this site have some pathetic loyalty to either a electronics or software company so don't worry they won't educate you.

Anyways thanks for annoying me enough to make me try explain my reason for thinking how pathetic you are again. But hey you won't take it onboard I already know this.

AAACE55210d ago

As I read that, for some reason I kept seeing the name "Atlus".

CWMR5210d ago

-Hmm.. I wonder which developer it is. Good news regardless. More games is always better than fewer games.-

TheLog5210d ago

Another exclusive is getting snatched...AGAIN.
Hope its Persona 5 and im a very happy camper.

well us 360 fans do. no one cares what you think

robotnik5210d ago

More flops that nobody will buy, let it die already.

Bodyboarder_VGamer5210d ago (Edited 5210d ago )

Murderdolls that doesn't change the fact that they are still flops...

Just look at the sales of White Knight Chronicles and compared them to WW sales of any jrpg on the X360.

chidori6665210d ago

lol.. good luck for this devs and sales flops of j-rpgs of 360... ;)

Narutone665210d ago

according to bot logic.
If a game does not sell 5 Million in one day = flop.
If a game does not score 9.5/10 in the Metacritic = flop.
Yep, definitely 100% will flop.

CWMR5210d ago

-Who said that if a game doesn't sell 5 million it is a flop? You are building a straw man. I have never heard a 360 fan say that. Some might have said that a game flopped compared to expectation, but I have never heard anybody say that a game is a flop unless it sells 5 million.

Lots of JRPGs have seen success on the 360.-

MajesticBeast5210d ago

wow microsoft is still trying even though the other consoles are outselling it by thousands a month i dont know if you can call it support or just plain stupid.

kaveti66165210d ago

It's still support. It's a matter of opinion whether it is stupid of them to continue strong support in Japan. But objectively, it is still support.

Myst5210d ago

Would be nice if he could have stated the studio name, I really hate it when we ( as in us gamers ) get left in the dark and are left with speculation.

Anyway tried looking at a few more of his tweets, but my head began to hurt due to the Kanji. Though so far I haven't come across anything of importance ( at least I don't think some of them were...)

reintype5210d ago (Edited 5210d ago )

They are the only company I know of in Japan, that has not yet made anything for the next-gen consoles. They are also, the only one big enough to produce the many titles that were alluded to by Famitsu.

They already have No More Heroes and Rainy Woods slated for the 360, the rest could be XBLA or NATAL launch titles.

5210d ago
Myst5210d ago

@ps360owner09: Ah, who knows. I really don't know much of devs or name brands and have stuck with just looking to titles and game-play. Though if they are the ones if I recall who did Ninja Gaiden first then I'm all for it.

@reintype: Hopefully their will be some variety other than just some XBLA titles here as well as Natal ones over there. Then again I haven't looked into XBLA as much so probably my lack of understanding of XBLA that makes me not want them to spend so much time there? *Shrugs*

Games That Were Bad on Release, But Are Now Great

BLG writes, "Some of the most popular games have had a rough start, with some of them being downright unplayable.

Despite that, developers have managed to turn it around for them and make their game worth playing. Here are some games that had a rough start but were pretty great."

Good list..hoped to see Street Fighter 5 there..and it is.

Vits15h ago(Edited 15h ago)

Sea of Thieves... I'm not disagreeing that the game has improved in terms of content. But I feel that the most significant change between now and its release is actually the public perception. Nowadays, most people are aware that the game is a multiplayer PvP-focused experience first and foremost, and not "Black Flag made by Rare". Consequently, people dismissing the whole experience because the single-player aspect is lacking or the story is plain are much less common.

darthv7213h ago

Several years ago, i submitted an idea to Rare that would change up the mechanics of battling opponents in the game. whereby if you died in battle, you turned into a skeleton warrior and had to fight your way back to the land of the living. It was an interesting twist on respawning and would allow the player to experience both sides of a battle.

I keep hoping to see something like that get added to the game.

Kaii15h ago

They consider FO 76 & ME Andromeda to be great now 🤭

anast12h ago

Every game in the last 2 decades...

INMATEofARKHAM9h ago

It's sad that this quick retort is more often than not true... The industry's acceptance of release and patch has gone too far.

They aren't going to give more. We are talking about a company that has rereleased an 13 year old game at least 5 times.

Doesn't seem to be that bad of a month. Got a bit of something for everyone.

Please do not support braid anniversary edition. Don't support Phil phish, he's a very despicable person, a a cry baby.

One example

https://youtu.be/yKUGwlFJAH...

Tacoboto2d ago

Wrong developer. Phil Phish was the developer behind Fez.

Jonathan Blow was behind Braid. If you're gonna cancel culture, don't take down the wrong indie...

CrimsonWing692d ago

Man, I don’t know why, but it also irks me when people try to tell others what to do. Fez was an awesome game, I couldn’t care less if the dev was a douche.

This is just extra cringe since the person actually doesn’t know what they’re talking about 🤦‍♂️

remixx1161d 16h ago

Welcome to the internet crimson

shinoff21831d 10h ago (Edited 1d 10h ago )

I wasn't cancel culturing shit. Phil phish is a complete douche. Did you bother to watch the video? Probably not.

I was wrong but call me cancel culture is just plain dumb also

Also crimson.

As you I'm human and we make mistakes. That was a mistake I mixed the games up. Shit happens. So go cringe yourself

Honest mistake, if you can watch that video and support the guy. Then I guess your in the same camp

Tacoboto1d 9h ago

You were wrong and that's that. Don't be so angry.

And yeah, that is a case example of cancel culture. It was a dozen years ago, he's apologized since, had Japanese developers rationalize with his remark, barely has done anything in the industry since Fez, and yet here you are, not even remembering the one game he made...
