UK software sales (Week ending 12/26)

Chart Track has published the latest software sales figures from the UK (week ending 12/26).

im from the uk and we dont buy linear scripted,no brainer games much we actually buy games with some depth ,kz2 and uncharted 2 have 1990 game mechanics you run you shoot from start to end on a linear path.

Something isn't right here. Ever year Sony release their fiscal reports with total hardware and software sold. Last time I checked that had an average of 5 games per console. And yet the hardware sales are rarely epic in the US but seemingly are very good in the UK. The software sales are less impressive although good but you rarely see them in the Top 10 in the UK or US or Japanese charts. Sony are massive in general in PAL (meaning the Middle East, Africa, Europe etc). Perhaps we should give these territories more significance but it seems thats where a huge amount of sales are coming in.

P.S. Uncharted is 4th on the PS3 list. Above Avatar and WWE Smackdown. I don't wnat to ever hear about PS3 exclusives as if they are going to change anything in terms of sales. Clearly these great games have had not the impact N4G was expecting.

N4G rule number 1, always think the opposite of what the n4g members think.

US, UK and Japan are big markets, even if a game is not hitting the top of the list they can still be doing strong numbers. Playstation hardware/software numbers do consistantly well throughout all territories whereas the 360 for example is only strong in US/UK.

PS3 fanboys here actually believe a ff7 remake will move consoles, it's absolutely ridiculous.

you couldnt be more wrong the ONLY reason i bought PS3 is for a remake of syphon filter (from the ninties) thats right it may never come but until the next title comes ill be happily occupied by the massive selection of games available exclusivly on the ps3.

people don't buy new consoles for games made in the nineties or any other previous era for that matter. You won't find one person who bought a ps3 for the SEGA ultimate collection or the GoW collection. Keep dreaming.

edit: you didn't buy it for a remake you dafty you bought it in hope of a new game in the series. I bought a ps3 for the next MGS, not a remake of the first one.

Look at all the damage control from the SOny Loyalists. Not a singe exclusive game for the PS3 is on the list, yet i thought "the world" was Sony territory.

He still calls Forza Flopza...says that he can't believe that its STILL there and then again proclaims to wait for GT5.

1st - how can Forza be considered Flopza if it's clearly doing well, is outselling KZ2, Uncharted 2 (GOTY), Demons souls and pretty much 99% of all the PS3 exclusives ever launched. LOL the ignorance is strong in Nathan Drake2...very strong.
2nd - If you know that your AAA Sony exclusives are not on the list, why would you call a 360 game that IS on the list a Flop?
3rd - IF all the other games (excluding MGS4) don't sell well on the PS3 that ALL the droids thought would...why would you put GT5 in that same class? Maybe it's best to not talk about GT5 and wait to see how it will actually do...And looking at the physics engine used...i don't think it's going to do that well.
