My 360 and I are waiting for 2010 only because we can't control time.

kratos1235233d ago

i am so jealous of you 360 owners this game looks soooooooooo good i want shepard on my ps3 if he isnt coming then ill have to get the pc version because buying 2 consoles is pointless

Seedhouse5233d ago

It's nice having both Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, able to enjoy exclusive titles on each platform :)

kratos1235233d ago

but most so called 360 exclusief are also on the pc so why get it on a console?

table5233d ago (Edited 5233d ago )

price/preference

I buy 360 games on PC but it's understandable why people would prefer a console. Alan Wake and Halo Reach are both 360 exclusive at the moment and they are looking good.

@below - Alan Wake still has a good chance of coming to PC not too long after, I reckon they put it on hold to speed up development of the game(along with other reasons of course). The Halo series is due another classic and will likely stay exclusive.

7ero H3LL5233d ago (Edited 5233d ago )

well owning a power house PC is actually more expensive. (if it's already been set in motion or an old time hobby of yours i could understand.)

anyways, at some point you're going to want one when halo reach and alan wake comes out.

waiting for a PC version of those game would be like waiting for a stop sign to turn green. (if you don't like that then stick with what you know best but these are MS's conditions.)

Raf1k15233d ago (Edited 5233d ago )

If you have a PC decent enough then you should get it for PC but if you don't you can either upgrade or get a 360. It's that simple.

The only thing keeping me from getting a 360 is the chance of it getting the RROD. I know the chances are lower now but it's one of those things that's always in the front of my mind about it. Also my PC will run this quite well though I'm planning on getting a new graphics card in the coming months (my PC is the 2nd thing keeping me from buying a 360 since I can get the games on this platform).

This game is going to be awsome. I feel bad for PS3 only owners missing out on this but they have plenty to keep them occupied next year anyway so not as bad as I would feel lol.

edit: @ 7ero H3LL. A power-house PC is not required for this game. My 7900GS which is 3 years old now is capable of running Mass Effect on a tad below medium settings at 720p which looks almost as good as the 360 version minus the AA.

edit2: BTW, love the character models. They're amazing.

we won5233d ago (Edited 5233d ago )

Love the dynamics of the Characters, Love both the krogan and the green fella. I can't wait to put Tali and Subject Zero on the same team, I wonder if Tali could handle Sub-Zero's overwhelming personality lol(polite/respectful/well-man nered vs Forceful/Selfish/self-centered )

Forget This PC/360, RROD BS just buy the game and don't worry about it, as most people do, when they own MSFT platforms.

@stewgart

Alan Wake has a good chance because PS3 fans say so not because of reality based on hard facts. The devs said they would like to see it on PC one day but it's up to the publisher which at this time says NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!. lol

-Seven-5233d ago

go with out ZOMG I am getting it on PC.

whothedog5233d ago

@seven
Why aren't you just happy that people will get to play this game regardless of what platform they play it on. Why does it really matter? PC is usually the better version when compared to console games anyways.

@we won
I meant to thank you for the youtube video/info you sent me the other day but in regards to Alan Wake, I'm pretty sure the PC version was the main focus to begin with and they had always planned to release it for the PC, and not to long ago(can't remember exactly when) they announced that it was just going to the 360. IMO I don't think they would scrap all the work they did with the PC just for the heck of it, but then again they could of got more money or advertising to stay exclusive to the 360, but I believe a timed exclusive might happen with it, just because of that reason. I've been wrong before.

Charmers5233d ago

@ 7ero H3LL - Ah don't worry once MS has run PC gaming into the ground they will have nowhere to nick their "exclusives" from then will they ?

It will be interesting to see how the xbox copes without the creativity that the PC brings. So laud it up whilst you can about the xbox locking the PC out of games it will soon come to an end.

As for this trailer, I think they are going a bit overboard on the vids. We should have just been given a decent full length trailer (instead of that crappy CGI vid they did a couple of days ago) and then left us in suspense for the rest of the month.

Still not sure if I will get Mass Effect 2, I found the first one didn't really have any depth to it and was woefully inadequate gameplay wise with only 5 story missions.

we won5233d ago (Edited 5233d ago )

"Thank you for your continued interest in Alan Wake. It is accurate that we are currently working exclusively on the Xbox360 version of Alan Wake. PC plans are currently open, and therefore it's safe to say that at least a simultaneous launch with the Xbox version will not happen at this late stage. Remedy has a deep heritage in PC gaming and would love to see a PC version available to its PC followers, ultimately however this decision lies with our publisher."

What do you think the publisher is doing? They're doing what they always do, they test the success on the 360 and then when or if software becomes successful, these peticular publishers will bring it to the PC if they feel it's right for the *Games for Windows* platform. http://www.gamespot.com/pag... You can find better sources if you like just google my quote.

There must be some other reason the publisher scrapped the PC version because the publisher can care less about what fanboys define exclusives as(Not describing You and I)

Charmers5233d ago

@ we won - give it up, I have been a PC gamer for nearly 20 years and even I accept the chances of us ever seeing Alan Wake on the PC are now close to zero. It is a proven fact MS couldn't give a flying crap about PC gaming other than as a resource they can raid to "add value" to their console.

If Alan Wake is a tremendous success on the Xbox 360 then MS will never allow it to come out on the PC. The reason being they want to get PC gamers using their console. If Alan Wake is a flop on the Xbox 360 then there will be very little incentive for the game to be ported to the PC. In short MS are calling the shots and they will quite happily let the PC take another bullet for their console.

we won5233d ago (Edited 5233d ago )

Give what up? lol I made a comment based off of what I've read, in response to somebody making wild claims. I was later called out, so I posted the facts I based my comment from lol.

Chill out I know this was a blow to PC fans lol. The publisher does not always bring games to Games for Windows, not even the successful ones.

Charmers5233d ago

I would hardly call losing Alan Wake as a "blow to PC gamers" from what I have seen of it they have changed the game so much from the original brief that it looks like the kind of game that would just die on the PC anyway.

Now of course if you were talking Diablo or Starcraft going to the xbox 360 as exclusive then yeah that would be considered a "blow" (however Blizzard still have a bit of integrity left). To many PC gamers it isn't about actually losing Alan Wake, it is more about how low and desperate MS are getting.

As I said earlier one day MS is going to raid the PC cupboard and find it bare, I wonder what they will do then ? It is good to see companies like Bioware treating the PC on equal terms as the xbox 360 (something MS is on record as saying they hate happening).

However that isn't enough for me, I will wait to see what the reviews of Mass Effect 2 say, if the game has been given some depth and a decent number of story line missions then I will fork out for it. If they haven't made any improvements over the last one then hell Mass Effect 3 could become an xbox 360 exclusive for all I care.

i3eyond the Circle5233d ago

Guys give it a break.

The PC version is the PC version.

The 360 version is the console version.

The console version is what matters.

Do we ever bring up that 240million PC's were sold, and that 10's of millions of PC's have broken in past year?

No. It's always Ps3 sold this, Xbox360 sold that.

PC gaming is there but it has nowhere near the attention as console gaming, I mean look at this website...

This game is a Xbox360 exclusive because console gaming is mainstream. Some of you guys sit here and troll for HOURS and you know for what? Your involvement in a war between Ps3 and 360. NOT PC look at THAT section.

I agree I recently got a 360 as my main console is my PS3. It's great being able to go between consoles for different games :)

Thane's personality seem to be very similar to Riddick's

farsided5233d ago (Edited 5233d ago )

though he may not always feel it...in the e3 (? can't confirm that) vid when shepherd first meets him, he admits to praying for forgiveness for the kill he just made. riddick on the other hand would probably just have looked up at shepard and set a tea cup on the desk beside him.

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan19d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave19d ago (Edited 19d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
