VGArabia: Bayonetta review: Action at its finest

VGArabia: Over the top action, Japanese pop music, and sexual themes are some of the things you are going to see in Bayonetta. Ok, we might have seen this before, so what is unique about Bayonetta then, you ask? The fact that Bayonetta has mixed these elements so brilliantly is a feat in its self, nothing feels forced, it's all done naturally within the game. But this isn't the full story here, playing Bayonetta makes you remember the fact that you are playing a videogame; it isn't trying to be an epic movie, nor to be melodramatic.

I'm one of those people. My older bro got his copy two weeks ago and I must say I'm impressed. I can honestly say, after watching my bro play several times, that this game will be more fun than DMC4. No offense to DMC fans.

it is like the real DMC 3 (dmc1 .. then dmc3 as the second game ... dmc4 being some watered down and upscaled version of dmc 3) for most devil may cry fans .

but yeah I had fun with the demo. I never really enjoyed theses games. Any variation on the genre from DMC to Ninja Gaiden to yes even God of War I just couldn't get into it. Then the demo for this came along and I found myself very much surprised. It was absurd and over the top but overall quite fun.

Ive been playing the game and its really an amazing game. I detract myself as the PS3 demo is not a representation of the game. I judged it by a demo (the same mistake COD fans make with KILLZONE 2 demo) and the demo is shy from what the game really is. A must buy from me when it arrives.

Also all of you know I consider myself a gamer as I had the mayor consoles. This said I have always favored the PS3 over the 360. The mayority of MP games comparisons on sites like Lens of Truth are really way off as I experienced those game myself and find that they looked mostly the same on both the 360 and PS3. That is not the case with BAYONETTA. Sega really did a rush port on the PS3. The game looks amazing on the 360 and WAYY!!!! better than the PS3 version. The game doesnt compete with the likes of GOW DEMO but it really is a beast graphycally. Its funny and cheesy as hell...but I really like it. The color, textures, shadows and ligthning are incredible better on the 360. Im in the same stage of the PS3 demo and I compared myself both. SEGA really did a rush job and they are going to be punished by PS3 only gamers. Their bad because they miss an incredible fresh game.

Im just in the opening levels and I really loves all the Sega past games references. An example is when Enzo is driving a red Cadillac trough the city and Bayonetta is complaining and slap him. LOL!! It looks like an OUTRUN taken part. Why? Because the Cadillac is playing MAGICAL SHOWER!!!!!"

Im more into the game and it is amazing!!! I really like the way it uses SEGA's past game music like After Burner's music. Anyone that like this genre must play this game. At least rent it. I hope they really work more on the PS3 version because I really like to play this kind of games with the DS3!

After playing the Demo, I can see why a lot of sites are giving Bayonetta the high scores. The only real problem I have with the game is the "inferior" port for the PS3, otherwise this would be in my priority list.

Why?

The game is all about the action. Do you care about the story when you play Street Fighter 4? If you want a game with great story/stories you should pick up Dragon Age: Origins.

the stylized action novelty wears off for me personally. i would've gotten tired of playing God of war A LONG time ago if it didn't have a good story. i don't see how people can enjoy mindlessly button smashing all the time.
