Looks like the day/night time effects are still there. The new HUD looks a lot more polished and clean. The graphics look amazing! We know your 360 broke 10x's and you paid to have it fixed 12x's because it wasn't covered under warranty and now the warranty you never had just expired. We know you dont like 360 games except Alan Wake, so you wont dust off your 360 to play good games that came out early this year like Halo Wars, SO4, and GTA4 Lost and the Dammed. So its not surprising someone with your post history isn't interested in ODST, Forza3, L4D2, GTA4 BoGT, and all the better performing multiplat games out this year(yes, I know its shocking but people actually play those all year too, but only if you have a 360 though) or any other of the great games already on 360 or coming to 360 early next year. Its like some random fanboy saying "I haven't dusted off my ps3 since KZ2", like anybody gives a damm what he plays. Yes darkride you have told that same old drama story 50x's. Meanwhile in other news Nielsen reports 360 is the most played next gen console.(I wonder how that happens when their all being repaired so much, lol) 360 sales more games than the ps3, the online service is second to none, and recently, the hardware failure rate has declined significantly over the last year with the new 360 models, with recent reports showing the jasper models at about 4%, and NO WIDESPREAD reports or data from 360 owners having hardware failures like we saw for a year or so after launch.

No debate though, Alan Wake is looking awesome. 2010 GOTY.

I hope this game is good so that it will give me a third reason to play my Xbox 360. The other two are 1) Virtua Fighter 5 online, and 2) Splinter Cell: Conviction.

However, unlike Darkride, I caught my 360 on sale. Arcade pack for $100 at Wal-Mart + used HDD for $50 from Gamestop = $150 Xbox 360 Pro. I didn't (and still don't) want a single 360 game until Splinter Cell: Conviction, but a $150 Xbox 360 was too good for any adult gamer to pass up.

cause the 360 base is desperate to show an exclusive title off. This game shows nothing exceptional at all. If this was multiplat it wouldn't garner this insane hype it's gotten from the 360base.

Looks like it may be a good game but people are making this out to be some AAA title and it is clearly not. Ask yourself this though, this game comes out in January (Next month) and we're still getting "teasers" of gameplay and that ONE sequences of gameplay repeated over and over again? by now we should have seen a bit more of the level.

Usually supposed AAA games have tonnes of gameplay content being shown a good 3-6months before release to generate interest but this game is avoiding that like the plague. It just tells me they just want to ride the hype it's already gotten and release this puppy undercover after reviews have bathed it with 9.5s and 10s.

This game has shown nothing that many multiplat games have already shown, technically, and apart from the possibility of it having a good story, it's done nothing else.

People want to hype the lighting effects as "godly" when in reality it's done good but nothing we haven't seen done on other multiplats in the past they just use lighting as a gameplay mechanic and that's all.

Sorry, this is just another hype title. It is exactly what Alone in the Dark would have been if given better production value options.

I think the purpose of the trailer was to showcase the engine, the unique day and night cycles, the lighting effects, the draw distance, the animations, etc.

Alan Wake looks great, definitely a day 1 buy for me.

...but the more I see the more impressed I am. The developer has been clear that right now the core game is finished and they're just refining it further, which in my opinion is totally cool => we'll all get an even better experience out of it.

Ditching the open world angle may end up being a good trade off if the end result is a game that looks and plays even better.

Never seen anything like it on consoles. Sort of negates what the Sony movement tried to prove with the Brink running on PC not 360 articles, by far. If we are to believe because Brink was running on PC will make a difference in the end.

Alan Wake has Nice animations, uncanny lighting, great textures and what seems to be, edge of your seat gameplay.

As much as I'm on the Sony side of the fence, I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't jealous of you 360 guys on this one. Alan Wake looks like a great game and if the reliability weren't so questionable, I'd definitely consider picking up a 360 to play this game. Max Payne 1 and 2 were great and from the looks of things, it doesn't look like Remedy will disappoint with this one either.

Indeed! I got a 360 FOR Alan Wake AT LAUNCH! I remember seeing it at e3(2005?)and we're nearly at a release date-it's been a while, no?

Anyway, there's some crazily food fames on the way for both consoles but I DO feel bad forthe PC only gamers who I'm fearing may lose out on this one forever(and after being teased with PC images for five years that's out of line!)-and I think SC:C might go the same way. I'm thinking more games will become true 360 exclusives from now on with gears2 and Fable2 being the start of this trend. Hope I'm wrong, mind, as both games look cool as-even if this trailer showed VERY little yet again-so should be available to those who waited for them on PC too.

Alongside Yakuza3, GOW3, HR, GT5, Reach, R3-and that's just a few exclusives(ignoring Bioshock2, RDR, Bayonetta, FF13 and co!)with many more on both HD consoles(and even great looking Wii games like NMH2 and RS2 leading up to the promise of Other M, DMG2 and, God willing, a new Zelda at E3)-not to mention the battle for motion control supremacy-this coming year looks much more like the perfect one for console gamers with all three coming of age to a point where you can't go far wrong whatever you own or whatever genre you prefer.

2010 looks, to me, the fullest, most competitive year of console gaming I can remember and while I'm going to be skint(without even THINKING about the PC games I'll also buy! Crysis2, Diablo3 FFS! Metro33!)I imagine we'll be very pleased, tired but sated gamers at the end of it all.

Also, hopefully a little sense and peace among us might break out so e can appreciate games wherever they are AND can stop any of our number being as mercilessly ripped off as we're, sadly, used to.

I love when they come in and criticize a game that is going to be released on XBOX360 in 2010. Alan Wake looks fantastic and will redefine the genre. They know it. And they are TERRIFIED. Why?

Check their exclusive releases for the year:
White Knight Chronicles - Will barely go platinum.
MAG - Will FLOP. HARD.
Heavy Rain - Niche title. 500,000 copies.
God of War III - Will sell, but not blockbuster-type numbers.
Gran Turismo 5 - The franchise. But it's a racing game. Hello?

Siren's an excellent game, I've been playing it a lot lately. Although it's not without it's flaws, I don't think it's been optimized enough as having more than one sightjacking on screen makes it run pretty slow. But I just sightjack one enemy at a time so it's not much of a problem really.

And it has bags of atmosphere, genuinely scary, much like the original was. I recommend it to any horror game lovers.

Alan Wake is gonna be an awesome game. I like that Remedy makes games that have a double entendre for a name. Max Payne for a bloody action game and A.Wake for a thriller with "Dark Forces" that appear at night. This game will probably be the closest a game has ever come to feeling like a scary movie. I still know very little about what this game is about. Its being presented as a AAA new IP, lets hope so. From the video i could not see anything relevant, besides the battery indicator and quantity of batteries, it seems one of the mechanics is keeping enough battery for fighting the "darkness" as they called it. 2010 is looking like 2007 for 360, amny exclusives and they all seem to pack a punch, and as for Alan Wake, i hope is AAA because i am getting a Jasper 360 for christmas and 2010 seems to justify this.

this is so sick looking, Alan's character model is so crisp and detailed. This is MS's take on Uncharted Im thinking. Im a diehard Uncharted fan on my PS3. I can see this offering everything like Uncharted. Great enjoyable engaging story telling and awesome ass graphics. I still give Uncharted better CGI though without a doubt, until I see more updated stuff from Alan Wake.

But Im thorougly impressed with what Remedy is doing with the game. Although this was super freaking short, you cannot discredit that the game is looking great from what you can see of it!. All the haters love to discredit this game for how long its taking, etc.. They all just need to shut up and accept that this will be one hell of a great game expierence.

The best story telling expierences Ive had so far this gen are MGS4 and Uncharted1-2. Im expecting this and Heavy Rain to be up there as well for me!

The developers have spent many years on this game and they don't seem to be bringing anything new in terms of gameplay. It looks like a more polished Alone in the Dark. I would even go as far and say Alone in the Dark brought new gameplay mechanics to the table even though it could have used more polish to perfect these mechanics.

I'll agree that the 360 has had more exclusives but most of it is shovelware where as most PS3 exclusives, not all of them mind you, are of a greater caliber. That's just this year though. Last year I was getting pretty pissed because of what the 360 was getting in it's disk drive. We all have to have a bad day sometimes though. 2010 looks better for the 360 though.
