I am really liking this DLC and is well worth the buy if you are on the fence about buying it.

gamers who bought the PS3 version, like myself, aren't downloading this until the lazy devs at GB fix our shipped broken game. pretty sad when a patch keeps the game from loading up and you have to delete the install data and stay away from the patch, in turn keeping you from being able to even do co-op. great game...when it works.

I have the PS3 version and I had the same problems until last week (i buy my third PS3). but after many test with slim and PS3 60Gb,80Gb and help not from GB but 2K. i can play online with friend. 60Gb and Slim.

I found if my 60Gb have fix IP i have trouble, but if i'm in DHCP i don't have problem. Because in fix ip i had open ports, but not all the ports needed for games.

good luck.

answer from 2K:

Dear Michel,

In that case Michel, I would advise you to delete the game data utility again, redownload the patch again onto your machine.

Then, please follow the procedures here below to delete any further conflicts that may be lurking in the background:

Delete all of the systems Internet cache. To do this scroll along the cross media bar until you reach the 'Network' tab, now scroll up / down the list until you reach the 'Internet Browser', highlight this and press X. Once you browser opens press the triangle button once, from the new menu highlight the 'Tools' option and press X. Scroll down the menu until you reach 'Delete Cookies' and press X. Confirm the files deletion. Repeat this for 'Delete Cache'.

Once you have done this, I would also advise you to contact your Internet provider and ask them to open the following ports tjhrough the firewall of your router, so that you may be able to play the game online aginst your friends. here are the ports for you to open:

Unlock all the following ports (please look online at your own router for info on how to get into this manual):
TCP 80, UDP 88, UDP 3074, TCP 3074, UDP 53, TCP 53, UDP 3064, TCP 1795, TCP 1745, UDP 1795, UDP 1745

If you happen to have any further issues after following these recommendations, please reply to this email and I shall assist you further.

Thank you for your patience and understanding

Kind regards,
Georges

totally agree....I bought this game on release...was told it was totally broken...I didnt open it and went directly to the GB forums..
I waited until COD came out..no fix in site...and with GB working on DLC vs fixing their broken game, I traded it in for COD.
I will never buy a game from GearBox until the game is out for awhile. If you read the reviews none of the problems were addressed in them...what a total SHAM They DID NOT test the game and released it broken.
I played at a friends house and the framerate (which they will never fix) is horrible when the screen gets filled.
The list of problems is a long list and if you check at their forums, they are just collecting posts and not doing jack, cause of DLC

I bought this game on PS3 and I have all 4 characters at level 50. Ive played though the game sucessfully almost 8 times. So how may I ask is this game broken? I havent had one problem with it that was game ending.

you are part of a rare minority, sir.
i did split screen with my brother one day. after playing and loading my character back up, i was missing a class mod and a shield. that was the last time i did split screen. LOTS of people with the PS3 version are experiencing all kinds of problems with this game. garbled voice chat, frame rate issues, skill points being given to other players and some losing their skill points...the list is so big it's ridiculous.

here, proof...
http://gbxforums.gearboxsof...

and that's just the PS3 version! i've been hearing of issues with the PC and 360 versions as well, with the 360 having the least amount of issues.

i'm in college for game and sim programming, and in my current class my Professor said lazy devs don't exist....HA! i had to disagree with him on that one, as GB is a prime example. it really is like they just skipped the testing phase. not sure what happened. hope someone got canned or something though because they deserve it. i would never ship a game like this, ever! if you're a dev, you're supposed to be devoted to making games, not crap.

I have a lvl 25, no problems with me.

divideby05272d ago (Edited 5272d ago )

good to hear but you are so in the minority...just go to their web site and take a look see
if you dont see frame rate issues or have problems with your bud list or lost character saves, the list goes on...you are one of the lucky ones.
as I posted I played at a friends house and saw these problems...glad I didnt open the game

on the PC version you cant co-op unless you join the game of someone who manually went in and forward some ports. not to mention the menus are buggy on the PC version as well.

did this DLC add to the skill tree? i love the game and want a more robust skill tree system (which i heard was in the works). I will buy this just for the skill tree and to shoot zombies.

I'm yet another player that has experienced ZERO problems offline and online. It's quite unfortunate that you have experienced issues, but to say that you are part of the majority is a huge misconception on your part. Of course when you have issues you're going to post about it on a forum, so sometimes it seems like everyone has been affected. But you have to realize that when people experience zero issues they aren't going to be on forums complaining, they're going to be playing the game. So for every complaint you see, I would say there's a tenfold of people who have no issues.

I will buy the dlc, just like many others will also. I hope GB rakes in a good payday because they earned it on a fantastic ip. It's not easy to make a sandbox rpg like Borderlands, and yes there is some minor flaws, but I'm sure GB will learn from it's mistakes and put out a fantastic sequel in the future.

SolidSystem5272d ago

there are bugs in all versions that have effected everyone,

PC has connection issues (major)

all versions i know of had the 5 lines of text issues, etc.

gearbox cant catch everything but how can they not catch 5 lines of text or connection issues?

The Pursuer from Dark Spuls 2 was great, I think the author just sucks at games.

Borderlands' Opening Scene Is Still An All-Time Great

TheGamer Writes "I don't think my most controversial video game take should be that controversial, but it is.
