Project Natal Is Gonna Be Priced Like a Console

How much is Project Natal going to cost? Microsoft's still working it out, but Robbie Bach says at the very green roundtable I'm sitting at that it'll follow a price curve "like anything else,".

Microsoft doesn't even have to price it high .I mean they really dont.

"but Robbie Bach says at the very green roundtable I'm sitting at that it'll follow a price curve "like anything else "

Thats not good at all . Overpricing Natal and it isn't out yet.

Sigh...

Godmars2905314d ago

They didn't have to overprice HDDs and wireless adapters, but they did.

KingKionic 5314d ago

Yeah ...but this is different .

Microsoft has the software for Natal and the cameras there using cost nothing .

I hope this was referring to the motion controllers and not a console .

BulletToothtony5314d ago

and you think that a usb adapter costs $100? you can get a wireless g usb adapter for under $10 and wireless N for under $20 so why charge $100

A 250gb hdd costs around $40 so i dunno why MS charges so much for add-on they just do..

Mc Fadge5314d ago

They can charge as much as they want because there's no competition

KingKionic 5314d ago

No. I didn't say that .

I said "but thats different " meaning it`s not going to change .

The way Microsoft prices there add ons . But for Natal it wouldn't be smart to price it at a high price .

badz1495314d ago

the 1st time you turn it on, it shows "SUCKERS"!

potenquatro5314d ago

They don't have to, and I hope they don't. But I wouldn't be surprised if they did. If they do price it high however, will it be very succesful?

I can't help but think that Natal will be about as successful at securing casual gamers for Microsoft as their paying for jrpg's was for securing the Japanese market.

I can see hard core gamers, most notably the xbox 360 supporters, being excited for Natal but I do not see it's release expanding Microsoft demographics much at all.

From a price point of view, casual gamers are going to think that Natal is an over developed attempt at copying the already successful Wii. Only the hardcore technology guru's are going to see the effort Microsoft put into on improving what Nintendo invented.

To be perfectly honest though, it annoys me when either Sony or Microsoft attempt to dip into someone's market. Nintendo has the causal market, Microsoft has the FPS market (why else would such a great game in KZ2 sell so little?) and Sony has the jrpg market. That's just how it is. So, Natal and even Sony's version of Natal are both bad ideas that are just taking away from the games that we, the fan base, want to play.

Look, I know this car was made in 1975 but it has NEW SEATS!

NEW SEATS! I SAID!

Don't you understand how much that improves the ride?

starvinbull5314d ago

To be fair to M$ if it works like it's meant to then $150 isn't too much in my book.

The tech is a serious development even outside of games.

I don't really want to play the next Killzone or Pixel Junk with it but it is very impressive from an overall point of view even if not from a gaming point of view.

$150 is about right in my opinion.

vhero5314d ago (Edited 5314d ago )

PSEYE does exactly the same and only costs £20/$30 but this is MS they will rip off there customers its what they do and you lapdogs will buy it up like drugs because that's what you do.

Blaster_Master5313d ago

I just sold my 360 because of lack of quality 1st party titles. Ill be damned if Microsoft thinks Im gonna buy a 360 plus a 200 dollar natal when they dont even support their system with regular quality content. I think Natal is just more smoke and mirrors if you ask me.

If they expect it to meet the hype they're generating, its going to have to be $40-$50. I suspect $80, but at that its going to be a hard sell to casual gamers. Even with the likely high-profile ad campaign and bundle deals.

renegade5314d ago

I expect like PSeye price or less

Godmars2905314d ago

The thing is at least three time the size as a PSeye. As wide as the 360. Don't think they wont milk those factors for a higher price tag. Just wonder if they have the brains not to.

Mc Fadge5314d ago

Can you show any images with that size?

Gabe EatsWell5314d ago (Edited 5314d ago )

Priced like a console and play with thin air.

They're about to fall for yet another gimmick that M$ is about to throw at them.....AAHHAHAHAHAHAHA

They should rename this project, Project Dumbass....AHAHAHAHAHAHA

This sh!t's going to FAIL harder than the BABOONS themselves....AHAHAHAHAHA

xcox5314d ago

i was thinking "project Anal"... after all, it seems obvious now that this is the core focus of their strategy xD

how to screw millions of gamers and squeeze every $ out of their stupid ass with full submission and media support: mission accomplished!

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos4h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto3h ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger883h ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).

I never got around to mass effect - I’m skeptical that it would hold up if I were to try it now

I would say it does. The combat is a bit shit for todays standards but everything else is great.
