Put it in the context that in one week the PS3 sold 15% of total numbers of xbox360's sold in total in Japan since launch and those figures are very, very good. I'd imagine SE etc will be looking at those figures with interest.

It is because Sony stopped production of the existing PS3 models in preparation for the Slim. So there were about 2-3 weeks where stores weren't getting any new PS3 models. The last week there were almost no PS3s left to sell. Then the Slim arrived at the stores.

But to see PS3 crushing everything else, especially the SubHDBox is a very good indicator that soon all this useless rant about sales are gonna finally end. After all is said and done, the news and discussion will be truly about games again, the true next gen games. God I miss that good old PS2 days.....and pretty soon we're gonna experience it again in HD glory with the reign of PS3.

3rd party developers always look for more money no matter what

Remember people, it was about this time last year, PS3 was kicking arse for 8 months, but then a well timed price drop from M$ gave them a years worth of good momentum and sales, even though they hardly had two good games to scratch together.

Sonys line up is unprecidented and the value, which was good before is now outstanding.

The next year is going to be great for Sony, PS3 and us.

sony's lineup is great but they need to advertise more. way more.
perfect example: tonight during the nfl season opener i saw one new ps3 @ $299 commercial and thought "great finally some push" but that was it. one ad. meanwhile i saw 360 tagged at the end of a rockband ad and guitar hero multiple times. maybe's there's more out there i haven't seen but advertising doesn't work if you have to search for it. they should be pimping that sexy beast of a machine everywhere.

I still don't care about sales as I do about good games, but to see Sony doing so well after the redesign and price cut, I just feel really happy knowing that more people will be able to enjoy the true next gen gaming console and of course more and more support from game developers means more great game incoming !

Looks like Famitsu was just a bit low on the numbers even. Sony laid out the serious ass whoopin this week. Glad the 360 was at least over 5k which is still lame, but it's Japan, and they just don't have much interest.. MS needs to change their whole Japan team over there they are failing miserably compared to the competition.
