IGN: GC 2009: APB Preview

Watching the APB demo gave us something of an existential crisis about the essential pointlessness of videogames. Not because it's terrible – it looks bloody great, in fact – but because it takes the action-game concept to a full and stunningly logical conclusion: thousands of players fighting a constant urban war, one side killing the other only for everyone to respawn within eight seconds and leap straight back into the fight. It's one long, endless battle where nobody ever wins, and nobody ever dies. And it looks incredibly enjoyable.
