Halflife is first and foremost a PC game. How can a non exclusive game do any impact even remotely close to halo for the 360? It cant. Valve games arent even published by Microsoft, so how can they be Microsofts weapon when they dont have anything to do with the development of the game. Halo is a MS property. They do whatever they want with it, so as massive as HL2:Ep3 can be on Pc/x360 it will never be something in the same lines of Halo.

I still think Halo2:Ep3 will be released on PS3, as was the Orange Box. EA might make the port. Nowadays, EA is much more competent in PS3 development that it was when the orange box was released.

o_O? Wow your 360 friends/associates must be in small numbers then. There are 546,709 people who registered playing The Orange Box on the Xbox 360 and that's only from MyGamerCard.net registered accounts, not even counting those who arent on MGC or those who dont have a Xbox LIVE account.

Then you have the demo of The Orange Box on LIVE which only demoed Half-Life 2.

Of course Half-Life won't make as big as an impact on Xbox gamers as Halo but it can definitely make an impact. It takes twice as long to bug test and play test two versions of the same game. Bug fixing and play testing a HUGE part of development.

Especially when it comes to fixing the 360 stuff. You have to go back to the source code, fix it, compile it, bake it for the 360 (takes a long time), test, repeat.

Where as all you have to do on the PC is fix, and compile and continue to test.

Isn't that what testers are for? You surely don't think that Valve themselves are testing there own games and would have to to so twice themselves. They hire testers who do what they are called. All companies do this. So they'll have multiple testers; some on PC and some on 360 so it wouldn't necessarily take longer to test.

Bug fixing, maybe. Depends again though, might be a PC and Xbox 360 team instead of one who would have to fix both the 360 AND the PC version.

Are you a Xbox 360 developer? You seem to know about developing on it, what games have you made for it? Or maybe a developer spoke out on this before? Like I said, the 360 was built to match the PC's architect VERY similarly to where developing a PC game and 360 game wouldn't be that much of a difference to do. So I doubt it's very different; that is what the Debug 360s are for, to match PC development as close as possible and Microsoft just added more RAM to those units for developers to make it even closer and easier. The debug units run the game as it is so there really isnt a need to "bake it for the 360" until its finally ready to submitted and go gold.

I'm currently in a school for game design and animation. I'm not a programmer, but I have friends who are. They're working with the 360 and PC on a daily basis.

Valve have said that they only play test internally. They don't hire people to play the games. The only time they use non-employees is near the end of development to record and assess their reactions to different parts of the game. And for that, they only use friends and family of Valve employees.

Also, the 360's architecture is more like an old Mac computer. It uses the same type of processor that Apple used before switching to Intel. (PowerPC CPU's made by IBM.) There's still a lot of porting and recoding for the 360 platform. It's not as streamlined as you'd think.

And 'baking' is a term used for compiling the code into a readable format for the 360 to use. It takes a while to bake a million lines of source code.

ALL of my friends list on the 360 have the Orange Box-it's one of the main reasons that I bought another 360, just to play some TF2 with these gays and the servers for that are still pretty damn full.

Hell, I play TF2 on the PS3 as well as PC and 360(more so than 360 these days as I find x game party chat ruins it myself!)and that's busier than you'd think as well.

Orange Box sold like 300,000 copies on PS3, and 1,000,000 on 360. I'm can guarantee that most of the people that bought the Orange Box on the consoles sold it. There's no way TF2 would be as empty as it is on Live if people kept and play it regularly. (Last time I played there were like 15 games open for TF2 on Live. Compared to the 25,000 servers there are for the PC version)

ive only seen a few minutes so far but saying sony is going to loose is way to early shure sony cant pump out a game every month but alot of gamers dont buy a game every month they buy the big games wich they like and have quality but sorry to say most of thoes are 1st party and there is the fact that if sony drops the price and the attach rate is about the same its obvious it too close to call you say activision via call of duty makes more on 360 yet ea the 2nd largest publisher just said the ps3 made more for them than the 360 and as for the kz2 dev time the console has had time to mature for abit now and there are more engines now so dev time now with the way sony shares dev information could be 1-2 yrs instead of 4-5 allowing for more games only say sony lost when this generation is over

oh ya im more in now ps3 motion control is comin out before natal and sony tried it with the PlayStation eye#1 and ps2 and it DIDN'T work theyve been studying motion control even before nintendo and have realized that you need a controller to squuez that trigger i like your vids but there missing alot and there's to much loose information
